  1. How much money do you want CGC to give you back if they lose or accidentally damage your books? If you are ok with 200$ each, then use the modern tier for both and mark down 200$. If you think that's not enough then write the higher value and go up a tier.
  2. Speaking of grades looking off, what do you think of this gorgeous 3.0?
  3. I own a 3.0 with a chunk just slightly smaller than that missing, so this doesn't seem so far off.
  4. Sounds like it wouldnt get hit much if judged as universal. If it's as rare/valuable as you think, it could be worthwhile to send it back and ask specifically for a Universal Label.
  5. I realize I never posted these. Quite glad to add them to my collection.
  6. I gotta say, this thread has taken quite a turn. It has gone from "more or less no" to "yes, often enough for it not to be exceptional"
  7. This is a big key book. So if it's available for sale in this state, it's because people smarter than you and me have figured out that it isn't worth it. The grade will be lower since the colour touch will be scraped off. So you'd be going for a loss of 1-2 grade points, which would incur a loss of value equal or more than what the book is worth as a restored 6.0.
  8. Your best bet is to contact winderific comics https://www.facebook.com/wonderific.comics/ Ask if they have an account with CGC. I'd assume they do since they host signings and such. Going through them to send in your cgc comics would be the best option since they could bundle up your order with others and you'd save on shipping.
  9. This kind of worries me. I have a really nice GA Fawcett book that was manufactured with the centrefold never having been attached. The staple never went through to it. I wouldn't want it coming back green just because of a manufacturing defect. Honestly, putting a green label on your star wars book doesn't sit right with me. Because a green label is meant to show what universal grade the book would get were it not the one big defect. Well, let's say they don't ignore the manufacturing defect of having that one blank page, would it not be a 9.4?
  10. Sorry to resurect an old thread but I have a similar question regarding this. What about centrefolds in GA books that were not attached at manufacturing. I have a GA book where the centrefold is loose and has no staple holes in it. Would it be the same kind of scenario in terms of grading?
  11. You'll have to explain a bit better because I don't understand that sentence. Pics would help too.
  12. 2.5, I'd get it graded, would make selling easier.
  13. I totally understand that. And yeah that price is rough. I too am in the market for that book but at a slightly lower budget (for a lesser grade). With raws selling for as much (or more) than graded, I will pick up a graded copy.
  14. If done properly, the grade should not change. The problem is that there could be a mishap during the staple change (like a tear) which could lead to a lower grade. But then again, it's already purple label so any defect done when dissassembling the book could be undone with restoration. So yeah, if sent to a proffesional, the grade should remain the same.
  15. Hey, what's the link to e-bay, I might be interested since you are not going for it.
  16. I understand the seller. Once it's in the customer's hands, it's impossible to know what they do and who to blame if it does indeed end up lower than 5.0. I don't know of anyone who would guarantee a CGC grade who is not CGC.
  17. I don't think this book can get higher than 5.0 due to the hard crease in the back and the lower corner staining. CGC is tough on stains. It might get lower, but I'd be ok selling this or buying this as a 5.0.
  18. I saw the close ups but that doesnt give me an idea of the whole book. Right now there's just not enough to go on.
  19. Could you please remove it from the bag and take a picture of the whole book? Because without that it's impossible to grade. Also you need to change that bag asap.
