  1. Definitely. Saw two Value updates in past couple days that gave me hope for my 10/7 rcvd being completed first week of Feb. Now I'm dismayed again.
  2. I feel that. "Which 5 of these 20 do send this month?!?!" LOL. FWIW, if you have something that field market value would place at Economy but could also submit as a Modern, go ahead and sub as a modern. If CGC says too valuable, they'll contact you and say pay more (pleasant surprise). Obviously, cant sneak a mid grade Hulk 181 through at basic modern tier but a lot will go through. Also I talked to someone in a different forum about a silver age Walkthru - because I wanted to know how CGC did the FMV % cost - and from what they reported it was very fair. So for all the pricing & tiers, I really dont think they are going out of way to nickel & dime you. With TATs way they are, I think it would cost more to nickel & dime than run it through the process as is, LOL
  3. I have, but only once. 1x Economy/4x modern. Once recvd, they broke into two different submissions - and am pretty sure they were going to separate as 2 different shipping fees + handling fees. But I didnt specify to ship together and it got further confused because I asked cust svc to redirect the 1x Economy to a signing event with another batch I sent just for that and they included it all together as a single order. So short answer, YES but expect them to split apart and charge you 2x handling fees + shipping fees like separate orders. For better clarification, direct Q to customer service. Ask in AM Monday, should get a same day reply.
  4. 1x Standard tier (no addl services) Delivered: 11/30 CGC Rcvd: 12/9 CGC Charged: 12/16 SFG: 12/10 Grading/QC: 12/21 F/I/S: 12/22
  5. My personal opinion is, submission tier probably plays a role (as others opined), especially considering they opened free tier to direct sub with Cons shutdown. I personally think too, that they put your books in the pipeline, like a cash register queue and it just depends on the grader's speed in whose queue you're in.
  6. Once they hit SFG, process should be relatively quicker, because most of delay is sitting at CCS and again sitting at RECEIVED status once back at CGC. Expect SFG for like 3-7 days then Grading/QC for 1-3 days and then you reach F/I/S and can see grades + (applicable) notes. On quality of CCS work, I think it's pretty good. I had them do a batch of moderns & 1 Standard. On the Standard they managed to remove a cup ring indent that I thought would leave residual evidence.
  7. Oh dang! Forgot to list recent completed. Unfortunately, they were from the big in-house signing event so TATs aren't especially relevant, but maybe helps those waiting on their signings. 3x In-House signing, Peter David (no addl services) Delivered: 10/12 Rcvd: 10/13 Charged: 10/14 SFG: 11/18 Grading/QC: 12/8 F/I/S: 12/10
  8. I've been submitting since July '19 and religiously following this post since found around Dec of '19. Do the TATs, especially for Value, stink? Yes. But what may be overlooked in this is that before the Pandemic shut everything down, TATs were right around these numbers. I remember Value inching up into 90-92 day windows beginning of year. We were all spoiled by fact that w/out Cons, CGC cleared the backlog and we were getting sub 20 day TATs at any tier for a hot minute there. They were probably losing $$$ w/out CONs so opened up Free tier to direct subs and started the InHouse signing events on steroids. Which drove up subs and effectively put all our TATs *back* at where they would have been anyway in a normal year. This is essentially the tiger tail we hold
  9. I was surprised by this too. Granted, Holidays and probably half the staff rotating some extra days off. But I had 3 books in for the mega signing event 2nd week of Nov (Peter David) and they've been SFG since. Usually my books been cleared w/in one week of previous event.
  10. Woo-hoo! Nowhere near Greggy's VIP treatment, but I feel like mine beat the advertised TAT. 8x modern slow track (no addl services): Delivered: 10/27 CGC Rcvd: 10/30 CGC Charged: 11/18 SFG: 11/13 Grading/QC: 11/24 F/I/S: 11/25
  11. Dang! I have a 10/30 sub moved to Grading/QC about same time as yours! Still ain't F/I/S yet. Maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday You are the golden child Greggy.
  12. Woohoo! Last I looked couple days ago it was 44 days. Guess they put pedal to metal to make room for their big signing event.
  13. Oooh, that's smart! Never thought to combine a regular sub w/signing sub. Even mailed both on same day before! If another creator stops by that I take advantage of, I'll have to try this.
  14. I don't know at all how this works. But the InHouse do have a promised 3 week turnaround. But they have been staggering the visits to get those grades out door without disrupting reg subs too much. FWIW I've been submitting a lot through Quarantine period. Both signings and regular subs. I have a suspicion that they may pull bulk of graders onto signings, but leave a couple always dedicated to regular subs to keep that flow going. I say that because I feel my signings received more...generous(?) grades. My reg subs seemed to have a stricter grader, but one who offered notes on 9.2, 9.4, even 9.6s. I had never before received notes on those tiers. And not for any signins returned in those grades. And some reg subs didnt get those notes either, but most do. Like it's one dude who is VERY detail oriented who is never pulled off reg sub grading. I dunno. I do like constructing narratives in my head
  15. Not Fast Track per se, but promised 3 week max CCS and 3 week max grade. So yes, the Inhouse signings would receive priority.
  16. Sorry for late response Adamantium, No press. Notes say "signed & sketch 10/16."
  17. TATs will be off due to signing event, but here's a completed order to help clear the queue somewhat: Bill Morrison InHouse Signing + Sketch x2 Delivered: 8/31 CGC Rcvd: 9/2 CGC Charged: 9/3 SFG: 10/19 Grading/QC: 10/28 F/I/S: 10/30
  18. To answer that question, yes, once CCS transfers the completed books back to CGC for grading, you'll see an updated Received date. I've only had 2 batches of submissions pressed and it was painful. First was pressed during the period when they'd just done intake on the last two big cons of '19 that I think included NYCC and boy that was a beating. Received on 10/31 :: completed & shipped 4/02. the second batch that was pressed was received a full two months later, but shipped at end of April. TATs now are long, but they used to be so much worse through end of last year into beginning of this year.
  19. I would not worry about it. I can feel some of mine shift within the inner well too if I turn too quickly with one in hand. But, I've cut a slab open before and the inner sleeve is a hard plastic, vacuum shut, heat sealed covering. The heat shrink effect produces a bit of a lip all around perimeter of comic, so it's the protective cover that's shifting, not the comic in it. I mean, I've read couple accounts of CGC slab being introduced to a flooded basement situation and the label and case were ruined, but comic in inner sleeve was still A+.
  20. No probs. Said it before, say it again: CGC is a bit of a black box where everyone's hypothesizing the behind the scenes. As far as InHouse TATs, theyre really good about holding to it. I've used the Perez, Claremont, Crain, Morrison and eventually Peter David signins. They promise 3 weeks for grading CGC SS and each of mine were done, out the door, within 7-15 days of actual signing. That impressed me for Claremont. He was there for two days straight signing. Their preview showed actual towers of comics for him to work through. You'll be golden. It's CCS that'll hold your books up. But they'll adhere to 6 week promise.
  21. The CCS option will be ~3 weeks by itself and they won't change rcvd status till it comes BACK from them to CGC for grading. FWIW - I sent in 2 books for Morrison remarque (not pictured in promo videos ). They were marked SFG on I think 22nd and only hit Grading/QC today. Once they ship, I'll check my notes and post their full schedule.
  22. I've wondered this myself, especially when I see (on other forums too) people discussing their returns from like InHouse Signing events. And I'm all, "you got your Claremont's back in September?! Mine shipped July 7/29." Which makes me wonder if they took advantage of the "free membership tier can submit for events..." and that's lower priority? Which then made me wonder, if so, is there favoritism between other tiers? Like ELITES get a priority bump over PREMIER members? Because I'm a Premier myself and in a year of monitoring TATs, I've seen a couple of my subs have a better turnaround than some other people in the same time frame. I mean, not much, but like a sub was marked received day after and shpped a day before another poster's. Who knows, CGC is kind of a black box.
  23. OH $%#@! Today is the 23rd! Man I am stoopid confused, sorry ya'll. F/I/S on 10/23.
  24. 5x Modern (no addl services) Delivered: 9/11 CGC Rcvd: 9/15 CGC Charged: 9/24 SFG: 10/8 Grading/QC: 10/22 F/I/S: 10/25 Other than longest wait between SFG and Grading/QC, one interesting point to note...F/I/S date is what I've recorded from checking for status changes multiple times a day. So for me, it updated this morning. But the portal claims "Shipped 10/23." When I check tracking info, it is NOT in the hands of shipper. So it appears to me that my date tracking is accurate, my books are slabbed and packaged with shipping info sent off, but not yet "shipped." I don't know why they've back dated the shipping time, but that seems a bit...hinky. Good luck on everyone's TATs. It'll only get worse when they get that big multi-artist signing event going
  25. What?! Lucky! My sub, received on 9/15 only hit Grading/QC today. And it's only 5 books, not the submission cap LOL Mine just got shuffled into the slow line, dang.
