  1. Same here. I don't necessarily expect to make a mint but try to set up every time for the spirit of the event.
  2. All the cool kids will be there! * (Except for the dozens who'll say afterwards "There was a VCC this weekend?" or "What's the VCC?")
  3. Wasn't trying to sound like a jerk, I think collecting variants is a fine avenue to pursue, it's just one that I'm not interested in. Given the huge amount of titles I collect it would be too difficult as well.
  4. Isn't PBA the same outfit that wound up with Ditko's books?
  5. The owner is going to be in for a rude awakening if he's thinking his collection is worth 4x FMV (or more).
  6. Thanks! it's not in the same league as your or pickycollector's Turoks, but it's not bad for an entry level copy. It's always satisfying to finish a run.
  7. Running only for a few minutes and shutting off doesn't sound right, especially for a humid area. It should run for a while until it reaches your setting, and then shut off. When the RH goes past the setting, it should come on again.
  8. Got these recently. Nothing esoteric or high grade but these suit a run collector like me just fine. Except for the registration on Mystery Tales #6. The Skull-Face story stuck with me after reading it in the '70s in the Tomb of Darkness reprint so I've wanted a copy for a while, but the interior color registration is so bad I'm not enjoying it so much. Hopefully the entire print run isn't off and I'll replace it at some point.
  9. It's a red letter day for me. I'd been looking for a low-grade but not a butt-rag FC596 for a decent price for quite a while. Picked one up on ebay a few months back, but it had half a page torn out so back it went. I finally nabbed one this week, completing my Dell portion of the run.
  10. The slab was a gift I received years ago in the Boards Secret Santa. I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Goldberg at the NYCC in 2012. I can't find my pix at the moment. If anyone doesn't know, he was the main colorist at Marvel in the early days and designed the color schemes of many of the Silver Age superheroes and villains. And the pre-hero tobacco sunburst background covers to boot!
  11. That doesn't really answer the question I asked. If he's such a shoddy seller, why are you concerned about outing him?
  12. If he's such a shoddy seller then why are you concerned about outing him? Wouldn't you want others to know who he is so that he can be avoided?
  13. @O Doyle Rules What is the comic book started all this ruckus?
  14. Are you saying that's a funny idea? I don't get it. Please elaborate. There's currently 8 CGC 9.8 copies for sale on ebay, with another 5 that sold in the last 2 months
