  1. Are you saying that's a funny idea? I don't get it. Please elaborate. There's currently 8 CGC 9.8 copies for sale on ebay, with another 5 that sold in the last 2 months
  2. But why of why would you want to do such a thing? You'll spend more on grading than it's worth. Prices on that book in the last 12 months in 9.8 range from $19 - $55 tops, the average is currently $45. Slabbing for sentimental reasons is a-ok, but you're not sentimental about a book from last year I assume.
  3. I would suggest using a sniping service. Set your maximum bid to be placed 3-5 seconds before the auction ends. If the hammer price goes higher than what you were willing to pay, then it wasn't meant to be and you'll find another copy.
  4. My goodness! The emails, phone calls and PMs have just been pouring in! “Rich! Rich!” everyone’s been saying, “What happened to all those terrifically dull mid-grade ‘70s FFs you were posting?! We need more, more, more!” No need to clamor any longer for I’ll now get caught up and satiate the unquenchable desire for utter blandness.
  5. Your listings say that shipping is $3.75 for up to 4 books. You said you sold him "about" 4 books, although his message specifically states he had 4 in his cart. If you sold him 4 books, you should honor your listings and charge him $3.75. Why should he pay $15 shipping when your listings state the charge will be $3.75? Your listings also state "Request an invoice and I'll adjust shipping cost." All he did was ask for a combined invoice and you called him an a-hole? I just added someone to my list, but it wasn't jackal_relic-thomas-landschulz.
  6. Wow! That's a beautiful copy and a great deal!
  7. Seriously? You made a name for yourself in this thread: I think I'm in agreement with everything Number 6 just said. Besides the self-policing, you may find that folks here have *long* memories. And in terms of cliques, in all my years here I don't believe I've ever exchanged as much as a PM with Number 6. In fact, sometimes he may even post things I disagree with! I don't have much more to say. I have better things to do with my time than engage in silly internet squabbles.
  8. You left out apparently trying to cheat other Board members. But yes, those carry a lot of weight. I suppose the crotch shots are more like icing on the cake.
  9. Nothing says "I'm a tool" more than photographing your books for sale while balanced on your crotch.
  10. It's still essentially useless, I used Google. However, even that doesn't work like it used to. I forget which Board software revision/update it was, but a lot of threads that used to be accessible to internet search engines aren't anymore even with exacting search terms.
  11. I had to switch hands to scroll through it all.
  12. I couldn't quite remember so i looked it up; there's a bunch of other similar threads i found, too.
  13. A fan is a component of a dehumidifier, you shouldn't need an additional fan. I'm pasting this from the interwebs because I'm too lazy to type it out in my own words: How do all these parts fit together to pull moisture from the air? It's fairly simple, but very effective: A fan collects air from the surrounding area and pulls it into the dehumidifier. As the air passes through, it comes into contact with the dehumidifier's cooled coils. These coils use condensation to pull moisture from the air. The collected moisture remains on the coils and drips into the dehumidifier's reservoir. The dehumidifier reheats the air and exhausts it back into the room. You will need to keep the doors and windows closed, though. Otherwise it would be the same as running an air conditioner with open windows and doors - it won't work. Most dehumidifiers have a readout showing the RH. I would recommend to not rely solely on the one built into the unit but to buy a cheap hygrometer to monitor the humidity as accurately as possible.
