  1. Too bad there aren’t any experts giving him advice.
  2. If you are buying books from the states, try and see if they can be mailed to someone to press before being mailed out to you.
  3. I did. They emphatically told me that no one besides CCS were authorized to work on signature books. Even if a facilitator isn’t authorized to press cracked out books, what’s to stop them?
  4. That’s news to me when they said only CCS could work on yellow labels.
  5. I would do research on who the better pressing services are. Seems like you may be leaving a lot of money on the table.
  6. Your comment says “days”, so re-evaluate your expectations as it takes a lot longer than days to perfect anything. I would also throw the book away and continue to practice on beaters.
  7. If they do it for one, they would have to do it for all. If that were the fact, the bosses would never get off the phone apologizing to people.
  8. Agreed. Long term there should be no irreversible damage that cannot be pressed out.
  9. Well…it appears my books have been ready, the dealer portal showed the wrong status all this time. It’s nice to see they are on the ball.
  10. Since square bound books have the cover glued to them, the second cover would just float loosely over the inner cover. CGC will note it as just a double cover.
  11. I see 9 breaks on the spine alone. Out of the bag we will see more defects. 7.0 range.
  12. Based on many years of experience it is usually the inner well. There are cases where it is a poor press job, but that can be determined better by pictures.
  13. Maybe it was bent over further putting it back into the bag after signing. I can tell you from experience, I could get that bend out without using a press, so for it to show in the notes as a crease more had to happen. When you get the book back a closeup shot of the corner would be very helpful.
  14. And yet, my 12/7 books sit in QC. How do books sent in a month later get done first? @CGC Mike

  16. $24,000.00 at Heritage this evening. Was in the race for a while, but someone wanted it a little more than I did.
  17. Sorry, I should have further clarified. I am doing that for my own books, but it may be something I can add soon for customers' books.
