  1. That Snake Eyes is a true horror. Sheesh. You can get those GI Joe Classified 6" figures for about the same price. I don't know why anyone would drop 20 bucks on those ReActions. The cards look great though.
  2. I saw this at Target, and thought what the heck. It's a Jurassic Park RC car. Orco's taking it for a spin. The baby and the dog are equally parts fascinated and terrified at the moment. Haha
  3. I pre-ordered this book ages ago, but covid kind of set everything back with delays, but today it finally arrived. The publisher is Australian-based Giant Panda King. This is actually the second edition of the book, the first came out a few years ago, but had sold out before I even discovered it, so when they announced this second printing, I put in my order. It is set up similarly to those old Time-Life history books about different wars that are full of maps and pictures and such. The premise here is that Gotham City was a real place, and all of the heroes and villains of the Bat-universe actually existed, and their stories are all documented here as if it were a real non-fiction account. I think it's wonderful, and it was worth the wait. Here are a few of the character bios to give you an idea.
  4. Just picked up an Undercover Donatello. I think he's sort of like Sam Spade meets Groucho Marx.
  5. If I have some slabs that have fairly egregious newton rings, does CGC offer any type of reholdering program that is cheaper than regular slabbing?

  7. Looks to me like you've got more weaknesses than kryptonite.
  8. Man, that is tough on a 9.8 1st print though. I honestly think the Eastman sketch looks really cool, but not on a minty 1st print. Especially when the dude just turned around and posted it for auction on comic link. If you're only looking to flip anyeay, don't deface a rare classic book like that. Ugh.
  9. I have not, but I've been meaning to read his Swamp Thing run. Just haven't gotten around to it yet, so don't spoil it for me. I didn't realize PI made an appearance, so now I'm even more interested.
  10. I suppose if you get technical, a first appearance is a first appearance, regardless if it's a one panel cameo or not. Meaning, the first time he ever appears is in 180. But that's why I have no problem with distinguishing the first cameo appearance from the first full appearance. Sometimes though, the powers that be can get rather liberal with their interpretation of the term "cameo." Looking at you X annual 14. But I think in that case it's because they literally effed it up, and didn't realize the annual came out before 266 until much later.
  11. In my experience, the 3-pack reissues had black Spidey heads, not white. I bought quite a few of those years ago when they could be had for dirt cheap. At issue 23, the black Spidey became the norm for first print direct copies, so whenever you see a black Spidey on the cover of an earlier issue than that, it is considered a 3rd print. But while I don't believe they started those 3 packs until after that time, there very well could have been some exceptions, particularly in Canada, so I don't want to speculate on your copy. I just wanted to point out the black/white Spidey rule of thumb in general.
  12. Man, I remember when I first saw Hulk 340 as a kid, and that cover blew little prof away. The story is a solid battle between the two of them as well. Airplane, snowy mountains, wreckless mayhem... sheesh, I thought it delivered. Perhaps the fact that I was about 8 or 9 when I first read it made it stand out more, but as far as big epic fights between two big comic stars, I think it's above average. Maybe I'm just crazy, who knows. As far Avengers Annual 10, your opinion is definitely in the majority of people that I've heard from over the years. Something about the cover has always appealed to me though. It's like looking at a wall of TVs at the appliance store or something. Haha. Plus, it reminds me of the promos at the end of the 60s Batman that I grew up watching. Where the announcer would hype up all the stuff that would happen like a carnival barker. The cover gets the kid in me hyped up about all of the exciting things in the issue that I just can't miss. Ha! I don't know, I just really like it. And I came to love Rogue as a character during the X-Men animated series in the 90s, so it's cool to have her first appearance. It's just a longtime favorite of mine, but I realize my opinion is in the minority on that issue.
  13. Hm, mine hasn't shown up yet. Usually there's an email or a link in the app. I've been borderline on a couple of purchases, so this will probably push me over.
  14. I had a $25 credit at a shop that I don't get out to much, so it cost me 50 for the pair. The Batman is a condition upgrade for me, looks to be at least VF. But the X annual 14 is dang near perfect, very happy with it.
  15. There's always going to be scummy fellas in the hobby, that's life. If you want to buy an expensive book, just get a graded one. Problem solved.
  16. Hold on a second, let me get my abacus, notebook paper and pencil here. Hm, yep, looks like the math checks out.
  17. Nothing unique here, but like some others, if it's a special book to me, I like to keep a nice slabbed copy and a second raw reader copy to enjoy. That works well for me, best of both worlds.
  18. Great to see the new entries, fellas! Keep 'em coming. Some of my favorite books in the whole hobby. And holy Batgirls, @Point Five!!!
  19. I've been loving The Last Ronin. Read number 4 this evening, and really enjoyed it. Won't discuss any plot of the series so as not to spoil anything, but I will say that I like the way the art changes here and there throughout the series when different backstories come about. They do them in the contemporary style of the TMNT book of the era. For instance, when he's discussing certain old events from the earliest days of the turtles, and the art is black and white and resembles the earliest Mirage books. It's just a really cool touch.
