After chatting with the presser/authorized CGC store owner about Elsa Bloodstone (vis-à-vis upcoming Disney shows and movies), I went searching for this one. For some reason, I did not have this one sorted with comics that were significant enough to be grading candidates. That was probably not terribly smart as it's been at least a constantly lukewarm book for a while now. For 47ish year old book with a white cover, I'm pretty pleased. There are a couple of very tiny tics that break color on the spine by the yellow circle. There are a couple of light impressions on the spine that look to my untrained eye like they will press out (these catch the light enough to make them look color breaking, but I would say they don't upon close examination in-hand). That's about all I notice. I am showing an inside of the cover as I've been dinged recently on internal cover discoloration, so I'm checking it diligently now.

9.2±0.2 b/c of the corners.

If it's pencil, I'll bet a good C&Per can get most of that off without killing the ink. I have a Tomb of Dracula 1 where someone did some post-publication inking on Dracula's face. Fun times. I can't tell if that a tear or just a little crease that's dirty on the top of the back cover. An effective C&P might get this to 7.5, so 7.0±0.5

PGM Sub-Mariner 1!! :)

couple of things here that could make this go one of several directions. There's some ink along the bottom edge of the back, and on both sides of the cover around the staple. That *could* be distributor's overspray. Look at the comic end on and see if there's blue ink along the outside edge. That would be the best indicator of overspray, which won't hurt the grade. If it's something else, it might get dinged pretty hard. There's definitely some paper oxidation/sun shadow/dust shadow along the top edge of the front and some non-ink staining at the bottom left of the front. CGC is coming down hard on stains and discoloration. I would look carefully at the inside cover, especially edges, as well as the interior pages for evidence of discoloration. The more there is, the lower this could go. I'm going to say 5.0±0.5 just b/c CGC hates the discoloration defects so much. It would present a bit better than the number on the holder. -
PGM: Predator (1989) #1
scburdet replied to creaturefan95's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
some very light edge wear and minimal color rub around the corners on the back. I think 9.0/9.2 with that. The defects are probably too noticeable to get into the higher 9s. -
That looks like it could be a printer's crease. A printer's crease will have a perceptible, but just barely texture. If several copies have the same defect, then it might be a know issue with some % of the supply. A lot of Captain America 241s have a printer's crease in the same place. That one corner is dinged pretty good and a few spine creases breaking color. 8.0/8.5 if it's a printer's crease or similar manufacturing defect. A grade below if not

1.8/2.0. Maybe a good C&P to 2.5 -
PGM Marvel Premiere 28 :)

This is one of my favorite books. I'm waiting to get mine back from CGC. A good C&P should make this book look nicer, but you're not going to get rid of the color breaking spine tics/creases, which are going to set your ceiling. Probably 7.5, but I would say 7.0±0.5. The one thing I'm not sure about is what looks like a square impression around GR's head. Like someone had the comic under a piece of paper they were drawing on. If that's what's there, it could press out, it could be listed as another defect -

You have to take it out of the bag to photograph. That black surface will be a good backdrop -
PGM Invincible Iron Man 1 - Grade is in!

If it's determined to be a distributor's mark, I think 7.0/7.5 becomes possible. -

PGM Marvel Team Up 141 *Grade Is In*
scburdet replied to chadsdsmith's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I've got one too that looks great from the front, but has several mild/medium stress line creases on the back. My suspicion is that it will knock the grade down quite a bit, so I have to make a decision on whether it looks good enough (if you don't turn it over) to grade It's a really good cover. -
