  1. 7.0/7.5. Maybe a grade higher c/p. Looks like some light soiling in the white letters
  2. Why I always boost what my eyes see by at least 0.5 if it's a GAer
  3. A stain that size should max out at 7.0 or lower, but it might get a key bump to 7.5.
  4. 3.0/3.5. The lower for the actual grade, the higher for where it will come out
  5. 7.0. Higher that's soiling on the back that comes off
  6. @N e r V @boomtown I accidentally came across this closed sale thread but the topic of subsequent discussion is of interest to me. I have never seen the Doctor Weird sampler, but I believe Star Studded 7 is JS's "first" published work. This according to Al Milgrom, who believed anything earlier would have been in their high school's magazines (Berkley HS). Here's my collection of Starlin 'zines including a DW1 that needs a signature that I've apparently never added to my albums. Starlin did not remember having been asked to sign the Fantastic Exploits before. He said the Eagle led to his discharge from the military. I think the sampler is the first of the Dr. Weird books, but they all seem to have come out in the same year. Still on the search for the sampler
  7. Not really a slab candidate, but the first copy to come up for auction that wasn't in complete tatters or priced an order of magnitude above its FMV. Got it pretty cheap. Roy Thomas's first Marvel work. My notes of less obvious defects: there is some significant reader creasing along the spine, possibly contributed to by the staple placement. There's a stacking bend/spine roll. It's a little strange b/c it doesn't look like the pages could be squared by just trying to press out the roll. There are some staple tears around the centerfold, but it's still firmly attached (but I won't be tugging on it too hard; TWSS).
