  1. read the forum guidelines and edit your post appropriately.
  2. what's the line through the center of the cover?
  3. top edge of the back cover is cut off in the photo. Otherwise looks 9.0/9.2. Hard to say. We had mine pegged over 9.0 & it got an 8.0.
  4. You might get a 5.5/6.0 if pressing really got the creases flattened since they don't all break color. My feeling is that there is still damage to the paper that can't be corrected. There aren't too many books from the 80s on that are worth investing the time/money in pressing & grading when they're in well-read condition. An example of an exception would be the 1st TMNTs, which are pretty scarce. These mid-80s Marvels had massive print runs, so there are a lot out there in all grades.
  5. better photos are needed. There are parts of the covers cut off. Need a full front cover on a better background. I'd use a black surface for this one, for sure with the back since it's white
  6. First impression was 5.5 but I go too low. Before my time too, but I did watch the movie on VHS
  7. As soon as I sent my grades, I looked at the books again & decided that I punished the Diary unjustly
  8. I see a slight bindery tear around the top corner and some light indentions along the spine. Much of this is still at the limit of photo vs, in-hand grading. I can't see this getting at 9.8 even after pressing. It could, but I wouldn't bet money on it. 9.4/9.6. Also, CGC is hard on this book like many high volume books that they can nitpick b/c they see so many examples
  9. If you want anything close to accurate, you need better pictures. Many people who offer grades here, I count myself as one of them, don't specifically try to parse the difference between 9.4/9.6/9.8 with photos. It's hard enough to tell with an in-hand book
  10. I'll message you my address where you can send me my prize Iron Fist 9.4
  11. The spine corner is probably a bindery tear that came out. The back piece out would max this out by CGC standards around 7.0/7.5, but there appears to be moderate oxidation of the paper, so I can't see this getting above 6.0, and likely more a 5.5
  12. 5.0/5.5 maybe 6ish with an extraordinary clean
  13. 4.5/5.0. Same comment as the Star Wars
  14. The ink loss from the apparent fingerprint was not so clear in the original photos where it looked like it might be glare. Generally, I would not use CCS services if the issues look like they need thoroughness. Better to work with someone you can talk with directly and will repress or try different things to maximize the grade. It seems like CCS is run more like an assembly line.
  15. 5.0 at best. I do not see this as a good grading candidate unless there is a sentimental connection to this specific copy. You're close to 1/2 or more of the books expected value in grading & pressing fees
  16. Looks like an ink smear or lift in the photo. Hard to say without seeing in person. Back covers aren't as important. I've got a 7.0 with two decent sized tape pulls on the back
