thank you and can provide more photos if needed.

@Changer Mike and I will be getting back to you directly. For any others with questions such as this, please contact us at service@cgccomics.com with an image of the full front of your book (and the label visible) and a description of your issue/question. Situations resulting on books being returned are reviewed on a case by case basis. Thank you for your understanding.

A little confused. I submitted this book separately for JSA Autograph Authentication. But I noticed it has been grouped together with the other 7 Moderns I submitted and the total charged to my card was $25 less than I expected(seems like $20 is for shipping and $5 is for handling? but the $22.50 charge for authentication still stands?). Is this still going to be authenticated as I originally submitted,  @MattM CS?

Correct. The JSA service can be conbined with other books that are not receiving this service. The JSA authentication fee will still apply but the packing slip may show a different price than the actual grouping of the submission. Thanks for checking!

    I have a question.

    1. Will JSA Locations (1 in NJ, 1 in FL) become CGC drop off locations?

1a. If it is a drop off location, will it only be a drop off for books with signatures that need to be verified, or also unsigned books?

    Thanks!

Great questions! At this time, these JSA offices will not become CGC dropoff sites. That said, this may be offered in the future but there is no timeline on when this could be announced. Be sure to follow us on social media and be signed up for our announcement emails so if this is announced you will be among the first to know about this change. Thanks for checking!

I have a local con coming up where JSA will be there, but CGC will not and there will be no CGC authorized facilitator. Will JSA be allowed to witness a signature for me so I can get a traditional signature series label, or will I be forced to submit with authentication by JSA after the fact?

JSA does have a witnessed service they can provide at shows that CGC will not be attending. Be sure to discuss this with them directly at their booth. They will witness the book's signing and receive a special JSA WPP COA Sticker. When this book is then later submitted through CGC with the JSA Authentication service added it will then receive a full yellow Sig Series Label.

I also have received what I think is a fair offer to replace the comic in the grade it was supposed to be in - plus a bit of a top up to cover things like customs, etc.  Still waiting on the forms to sign off, but have found them to be very reasonable (aside from the delay) - once they came back with an offer, communication has been very solid.

@Panda2 Thanks for letting me know! I have just alerted our claims team to send this out to you again. This was sent on the 7th and again yesterday but this should come through today to the email we have on file. If you do not receive this, please reply to my email correspondence with you regarding this claim.

I have still not received any offer. Can anyone explain to me why CGC has to wait for the insurance company to approve any offer? If insurance doesn't approve, is CGC not going to make their customers whole? I also have no idea why this has taken months, when it would take anyone with any knowledge of comics no more than 30 minutes to determine.

@WernerVonDoom, Because the insurance provider is the one directly reimbursing our customers and NOT CGC they must review each situation directly and create an offer. That said, there are still several customers/situations we are waiting on an offer from the insurance provider. Once this has been confirmed one of my team members or I will be contacting you with more info and the next steps.

    Thanks for your patience!

Hi Matt.  So, it sounds like in this situation, JSA places a WPP sticker on the item.  Wouldn't a sticker on a comic negatively impact the grade of the comic?

In this case, the JSA sticker will be ignored during the grading process. Thanks for checking! If there are other stickers on the book, this will be reviewed by our graders accordingly.

  8. Hello @Tazman4151,

These invoices are created at the beginning of the submission process before accounting has processed payment. This invoice goes through the entire submission process with the books as another one of the proceedures we follow so there is never a question of who the books belong to. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

  9. @Drigz

Unfortunately, we have been experiencing some issues with our server.  As a result, some features on the website may not have been displayed properly. This could have included features like order submission and tracking. Everything should be back up and running normally now. Please let us know if you are still experiencing an issue.

If there is a label that is show-exclusive, this will not be made available on the online submission form until the week of the show. The reason for this is we have to ensure that only books that receive this label are submitted at the show. To prevent too many submissions from having to have this label removed from their submission because they were not submitted at this show these labels are only available during the show week. As you can understand removing these from orders can take time if they do not qualify.

If you have a submission you intend to submit at a specific show but want to wait to see if a custom label is announced for this show, be sure not to check out on the submission form until the week of the show. Thanks for checking! Once a show-specific custom label's show is over that label will be removed from the submission form. Thanks for checking!

Is JSA going to be able to witness books at cons @MattM CS? per the above, that would get a SS label, yes?

Great question! Yes. Through JSAs WPP service, JSA will witness the signature take place. Those signatures if submitted will receive a full Yellow label Sig Series instead of the CGCxJSA label. That said, if CGC is not at a show but JSA is and you have a book go through this WPP service, the full CGCxJSA authentication service pricing will still apply. Thanks for checking!

Hey there! I have a book on the way to you guys for the jsa authentication. I also added the custom nyc Spidey label. Can it be put on there with the new black and yellow label?

Currently, we do not have custom labels available for the CGCxJSA service but we are working on these. Once this arrives, our team will contact you with the possible options. Depending on when these labels are set to arrive we may allow for this to be held but I can not confirm this for certain until our team has reviewed your submission in house. Thanks for your patience.

@MattM CS mentioned this in the Ask CGC section.  I am not sure if there is an opt out option.  Maybe Matt can verify this.

Comics with not genuine or unverifiable autographs will be encapsulated with the CGC Universal blue label (the label and grader notes will identify the not-genuine or unverifiable autograph) or the CGC Signature Series label (the label and grader notes will identify the not-genuine or unverifiable autograph).

@s-man This is not a service that can be opted out of if the signature is on the cover. If there is an unverified signature on a book and it arrives to our office without the JSA service requested this will be added automatically. This can be found on the FAQ section of the announcement HERE

Hi. I have a book that was signed in 1988 that I'd like to get verified. Is there anything else I can provide besides the book itself to help with JSA verification? For example, a letter from the owner of my local comic shop who organized and was present for the event? Or a photograph from that event? Thanks.

Nothing else is needed other than the book. COAs photos, or other materials to show as evidence are not needed for this service. In many cases these extra items are not returned after authentication so be sure to keep them for your records.

In order to help JSA authenticate a signature, can the submitter also include a COA that goes with the book, i.e. a Dynamic Forces COA?

Hey! as @Sigur Ros stated because these are not tied to a specific book these will not be needed. Please retain this COA for your records. If this is sent in, there is no guarantee it will be returned with your submission.

  16. Hey @dbcn

Great question! The JSA Authentication add-on is further down the submission form. This is a selectable service and ONLY needs to be added if there is an additional unverified sig already on the book. If you do not have an unverified signature on the book already you can skip that JSA AA service add-on and move straight to the Add Comic section. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused! Thanks for checking!
