I love 174 for its style and of course the Rouges! Iconic, and powerful, unique for its time. I would normally have it in my top 5. I choose 155 in its place this time as my favorite Rouges cover as it is such a great example of Carmine's action and fluidity, motion on display. Why couldn't I have 2 Rouges covers in my top five? Good question! Like I said my top five change from year to year. :cloud9:

Before Carmine, there was the great Will Eisner who would incorporate typography into the cover. I think 174, in that style, in color, is a classic.

It is pretty wild to think about how affordable first appearance issues were "back in the day"...I was able to pick up a nice raw VF- (7.5) copy of FF #52 for $120 back in late 2001...

Granted that was 20(!) years ago, but still...

I've always been happy to have a copy so never gave a thought to upgrading. If only I did 20 years ago as well.

I think this group started with this photo that I saw of Geoff Johns and "The Flash" from 1990. Geoff is wearing the cover to issue #174 on his shirt, so I started with that one and worked my way back.

My top 5 would have to be #174 with the Rogues cover, then the cover with Capt. Cold #166, then the GL cover #168, then the Grodd cover #172, and then #170 & #171 are tied only because of the humor on the cover.

    174 ^^

Sad day for Flashlites yesterday...I went to my local comic shop and found out the Showcase #8 with water damage that I've been dreaming about for a year and a half was finally sold. It was almost in reach but alas it really was just a little too much for this Flash fan. Collecting on the small budget I have really has it's ups and downs. It's great when you come across something at that rare moment when you have the ability to purchase it! Like the signed copy of 107 I got this summer! That was amazing! But its painful when something like this slips away.

There will be another, better copy when you're ready.

So far I only have one entry for this Flash canvas:

jmg3637 has picked 123 as their choice.

Get on board Flash fans, we have one week left. See the earlier post from January 16th on page 203 of this Flash thread for all the details and more images.

    My entry is 766.

That is the sum of these Flash covers: 123, 139, 155, 174, 175

Opened my package and waiting was a gift from @innocuous as well as a 2nd with the name left blank! Whomever they are they know of my love of fishing as it was a sweet new addicted hat. Then I was greeted by 3 of the sharpest and prettiest DC BA Horror books I've beheld. A Kaluta, a Wrightson and an E. Chan. Wow. Just wow. Thanks so much @innocuous as well as the mystery sender of the hat (if that wasn't also innocuous.)

What an outstanding gift. Happy Festivus and Happy Holidays and Christmas to you and everyone else. Excelsior!

@Kramerica Happy Festivus and you're welcome. Both hat and comics are from me. I recall from our prior PMs you also fish. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a "fish in the face" cover in time, so I figured the hat (from a YouTube channel) would be good.

I got home late last night and was excited about the package waiting for me. @comicparadox I received your package, will open it tonight and post pics here. Thank you.
