  1. well the seller does have a 30 day return policy so if you are unhappy you can request a return and pay return shipping if approved if you are within that window of 30 days of receipt but it sounds like you might be on the edge or just outside of that timeframe I don't sense any malicious intent by the seller, as noted Newton Rings can be hard to spot at certain angles and the seller may not have even been aware of their existence especially at the size noted .... does that make them less annoying once you spot them?, no, but it's still an issue CGC has not solved with their current slabs honestly, I'd just accept the book as it is if I were you
  2. best honest effort yes, but a 1"x1" Newton Ring defect is something that may not be obviously visible to all people so I don't know that I can fault the seller for not disclosing .... it is also more than likely small enough that it would be within CGC's acceptable levels to not qualify for a mechanical error reholder what is the link to the auction listing? how many pics of the book were provided and what was the picture quality, if many and good it is obviously something you missed as well in your due diligence does the seller offer a return policy?
  3. I don't think so and if I were ebay I would not approve of a claim if you submitted one based on the info provided you can work with the seller to see if they will offer you any kind of refund but again I would not expect one and would not offer one if I were the seller you can try your luck and pay for a reholder with CGC or submit to another grading company if the defect bothers you but given it looks like you are in Australia, probably not worth your effort and cost and there is no guarantee the reholder will improve things (with CGC) or you can just live with it like most of us do
  4. this is typically not allowed so I would not count on it
  5. no but I joined "BAM Thank You Ma'am" instead and am a proud card carrying member still today
  6. why is anyone blaming CGC here? this [Infinity and Infinity Murder Signature] is a Clayton Crain thing not something CGC invented I think it is ridiculous and would never pay for it (already made a joke about it when it was announced) but no one is forcing anyone to get anything other than the standard sig which is also being offered and again this isn't a CGC creation .... blame the artist if you don't like their marketing ... many do when it comes to Liefeld
  7. there are certainly more factors than that not saying it is the case in this instance, but what if this book was actually graded 5 years ago and had fading on part of the book from sun exposure would CGC just re-holder and slap a 9.2 back on it if it wasn't warranted just because the slab had a crack?
  8. fair enough, don't know the rarity but re-slabbing with shipping back and forth is going to be costly as well if it were me I would at least request a partial refund from the seller for poor packaging
  9. I would also ask for clarification, did this come from CGC or did you purchase this already slabbed book from another party that shipped it to you as pictured? reason I ask is, I have never seen CGC ship a book in a gemini mailer and a plastic bag as pictured so I am going to assume this did not come directly from CGC if that is the case, you would have to pay for shipping back and forth to them, the cost of a reholder, and the book would possibly and likely have to be regraded or you could reach out to who you purchased it from and request a refund due to damage during shipping
  10. reach out to CGC customer service 877-662-6642 or at submissions@cgccomics.com
  11. sorry if this has been covered did ebay make it so you can't snipe auctions anymore when you enter a bid during the countdown it kicks you out of the bid screen if you sit on it too long without submitting the bid when was this implemented?
  12. TAT on Signature Series submissions tend to be much quicker than that of normal submissions also just to clarify your inquiry .... CCS pressing should only add an ~ additional 2 weeks so 8 weeks total for press and slab not 8 weeks added to the 6 weeks for grading
  13. to be fair, the OP said there are more than 100 books, so it could be a million or tree fiddy which are both more than 100 let me help knock one off your list, Heathcliff #1 looks to be worth less than $10 and would cost you more to grade than its worth
  14. maybe not through the plastic of one of their oil slicked slabs
  15. thanks for posting talk about putting the “spotlight” on newton rings great book and that is shameful I would have tried to go above the first reps head though I also understand they are now limiting the reholder to having to report the issue 2 weeks after having received the book (which I believe to be fair) “customer service” like that will surely drive people away
  16. not sure if they do the same for Canada as they do in the states but if you reach out to CGC if they determine the newton ring defect to be substantial enough (which I don't think can be argued by your picture) they should cover the shipping costs both ways for a mechanical error re-holder bad thing is you have to wait for your book once again but I'd reach out to them and see how they can help
  17. not sure that any of the early impressions have blamed the suckiness of the movie on him and his acting have they? bad CGI, bad editing isn't the actors fault .....and a turd screenplay can only be elevated so high
  18. I'm not an expert but will try here you decide the value for insurance purposes ..... yes, seems a bit silly that you are asking a company to grade your book which can determine the value yet you have to determine the value first .... best source would be something like ebay sold listings yes if the book is going to be declared a value over $400 you would have to submit in Standard tier turnaround times are extremely long but as I understand they are even longer for magazine size books, also keep in mind days listed are working days and are just estimates which in many cases trend to be lower than what the actual turnaround time is good luck with your submission(s)
  19. since you posted that ^ I'll be more specific if you want someone who will really attempt to clean imperfections CCS should not be your first choice then again most would say that about pressing as well
