  1. words to look for in raw online comic book sale listings: complete, no rips or tears, all pages fully attached at staples, no added writing, no restoration, my return policy is ….. Unless you know the seller and their reputation or have a means to make a reasonable assessment assume you are buying from someone that knows nothing about comics or that collecting them is a hobby and is looking to do nothing more than get money for something they have no interest in keeping however they happened into being the owner
  2. yes, be careful what you wish for if this were “required” it would be a much smaller marketplace
  3. I don’t like that this scenario ever comes up because no one really wins in the end ultimately I believe it is up to the buyer to inspect their purchase within a reasonable amount of time in order to request a return/refund YMMV on what you consider a reasonable amount of time, often it helps when a seller discloses upfront what their return policy is and how many days you have in the above hypothetical, I believe it would have been up to you to count the pages before breaking the chain of custody, the fact it wasn’t caught by an experienced presser (hypothetically) would also worry me (would you request a partial/full refund from the presser? …maybe another question) assume everything is being sold “as is” unless stated otherwise …. if the book being sold was a 5,000 page novel that a seller was reselling and never read would you expect that they should count every page before selling? they also have to trust that you did not just tear out a page because you expected a book in better condition only deal with people you know if you want the kind of resolution stated in regards to jimjum12 but if you are working with “strangers” don’t expect the same TLDR: I would not offer you a refund (partial or full) as the seller in this hypothetical scenario
  4. for as great and iconic as the cover to Hulk 340 is, the guts are a monstrosity of mediocrity
  5. yes, I like collecting money but other interests interfere with that no need to put all your eggs in one basket, unless you only collect eggs and not baskets
  6. I'm curious how CGC knows they are fingerprints and not footprints
  7. funny how that isn’t the member of the FF that is supposed to be invisible by the way …..
  8. after years of collecting as a kid and now well into my adult years, my first ever DC purchase ..... as a big fan of hockey and music (yes the backup story is music related) good thing I bought this for the cover art and not the story in what cockamamie world is there a ice hockey game with 4 quarters??!! great way to open your story
  9. not much into modern age books but did pick these up recently (not this week, sorry for violating the thread topic timeline)
  10. if you had one of his tables and put the slab at the other end of it you likely would not see the Newton Rings ....in most cases
  11. I've never resubmitted for a press so I can't speak with any expertise but if there is a place to notate I would include exactly what it says in the grader notes so the ask is clear what you want fixed don't know if they pay any attention to that, don't know if they pull up the grader notes themselves .... unlikely they do either but better to include more if you can for a better chance at success
  12. James, are you able to post a picture of the effected area of the slab you received? no slab should leave CGC with any amount of NR coverage but would just like to see what we are talking about here and how obvious or not it may have been
  13. CGC fixes many of these (not all) at their expense (man hours, materials, shipping both ways, reputation)
  14. I see you left negative feedback for the seller already I don't find that to be an appropriate response and would be less inclined to grant you a return or any recourse now if I were the seller
