  1. Picked this up a week or two ago on ebay. The very last one I needed for the set (of single cars). Yay!
  2. Here's one I didn't know about until recently: the Spider-Man 'Trail Busters' RV on the right. (Image from the internet - not mine (unfortunately). The packaging isn't as vibrant (and not Marvel branded) as the Scene Machines, but still really cool.
  3. Haha, nope, that was wpbooks. This is me, and I paid for this piece. I'm also looking forward to wpbooks freebie image.
  4. Believer #50, Featuring a cover story on the man himself.
  5. And some images from the inside. Sick, twisted stuff (my favorite!).
  6. This is a cool book. It's huge - 12 x 16 inches. Contains black and white prints of stuff I've seen and some I haven't. Printed on super thick matte card stock. Any one of these could be cut out and would feel like a high quality silkscreen print. Just lovely.
  7. Here's the nice flyer (glossy double sided post card size) Lee put together for the signing I attended (Thanks again Lee!).
  8. Here is my only original. As I mentioned earlier, it's hand painted on layers of acetate.
  9. That is fantastic! He was kind and generous with his time when I met him, but he wasn't handing out free art! I'm not concerned if a piece was published (in this case), but I would prefer it looks finished. Part of Burns' appeal to me is how tight and perfect the line is, so I'd like any piece I buy to have that quality,, at least when paying FMV. If it's free or cheap my requirement becomes moot.
  10. If The-Collector had responded with this, I would have thought he's interested in an informative discussion, and I'd go count pages (I own all of his published work ). For you I can't be bothered. I think your first response explains quite a lot. He just doesn't sell his work. I think I agree with you his work is relatively small, that is compared to others. But overall I would say it is not insignificant and I would expect more to be avaliable given what he has done. Agreed. In fact I feel his body of work is much more significant than most mainstream comic book artists (at least to me), it's just not that plentiful. Most of his graphic novels were under 100 pages, which is just a couple months of a mainstream superhero book. And the fact that he appears to not sell black hole pages - his largest project at 600+ pages - makes it even tougher to find. Another thing worth mentioning - he has some crossover appeal with the fine art world, so we are competing with a few of those folks as well as comic fans. I wish more work was available too, as it would make it a bit less expensive. As was mentioned earlier, when you do find it, you pay a hefty price.

  12. Baumgold only has the believer pieces left (and all the good ones like Ai Wei Wei / Fidel Castro are gone) and Scott Eder doesn't want to part with his pages/covers. I know where some is. I was more interested in opinions on why it is so hard to find given the size of Burn's body of work is not small. He has done a fair bit of illustration work outside of comics but you never see those come up either. I would say his body of work is rather small. He's meticulous. Not part of the monthly machine.
  13. Freakin' love it. I also love Iggy. I have this poster, but I believe there's a signed limited print as well.
  14. Hi Jake, I am a huge Burns fan. I don't think he sells any of his comic work. I have never seen a Black Hole page for sale, or a page from any other comic I can think of. I have seen the occasional pin up or end paper illustration for sale. I've also seen various images from Believer Magazine, for which he provides illustrations. Mostly you can find limited edition prints, which are expensive but beautifully made. The only original I have is a painted transparency/cel which was painted up in layers. I took it to a signing so he could confirm he painted it. Tim
  15. Winner of the cover did not get the color guide. Oh. Gawd. Two people actually fought over this up to $10k?? I was certain it was punishment bidding too. Still could be punishment style, no? Buy color guide vs. the new owner of GLGA 76 cover OA at any price. Sit on it for a minute. Cover owner regrets not buying it and becomes obsessed with owning it. Put on market For 15K?
  16. Those are neat, and I enjoy tracking them as well. Actually, some have a third version. I don't have all mine scanned/photographed, but there are certainly more interesting and scarcer combinations. For instance, the ROTJ LS have a 2 and 4 pack (as there were 4 issues in the limited series) containing the mewsstand editions, and then there is a third version of 2 packs containing the CPV's. Pictured below are the two packs CPV's with the 75¢ cover prices in a multi-pack display with the shipper behind: I believe most remain Whitman variants as long as they're sealed and were produced/distributed by Western (some bags are marked as such). Here is an interesting version of the multi-pack containing direct edition (not reprints) of issues 2-4, with no number 1, as was bundled with the Whitman multi-pack with the Suzy Rice Star Wars logo. The last photo is what you find with issues later in the run (starting sometime around issue 20, where they inserted single issues along with other Marvel titles): Awesome! That display is amazing. And the original shipper!? Wow. I also love those Star Wars packs. I still need one more to complete the regular set. I don't have the Canadians though, those are great, and now on my list. What is a Suzy Rice logo?
  17. Great stuff wormboy! If it helps your decision any, I personally would not open it. I think the condition of the poly-bag is actually above average, and far from being a beater (I usually attribute the highest impact on desirability of a multi-pack on bags that have lost their clarity rather than wrinkles, mark-ups or graphic fading). You'll sooner fnd a raw copy of the book you need than another multi-pack containing the issue. I regret selling the handful I did. One was a sorting error too. I sold that to a friend of the family, and have not had any luck tracking down another. Thanks for the advice! Other folks seem to feel the same way . But if anyone could sway me it would be you.
  18. Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen multi-packs with Pence Editions. I have seen Multi-Mags with Canadian Editions, specifically Wolverine 2, which I saw years ago in this thread, thanks to comicwiz.
