Raiders of the Lost Ark #1 was also available in two different packs - Marvel Comics 3-pack and Parkes Run 2-pack), but it was the same (direct edition) book in both.

Some more fun multi-packs. Shogun Warriors #1 was available in two different bags (Whitman and Multi-Mag) and in two different editions (Whitman direct edition and the regular UPC/Newstand edition). I love this stuff. Followed by a pic of the two versions of #1 plus #2 and #3.

I picked this up about a week ago. I think I'm going to open the bag. While I have mixed emotions about doing so, here are my reasons: 1. I collect CGC Bronze Anniversary issues, and need this direct edition of IM 100. 2. The condition of the bag is weak. The back header is black as if painted (?). 3. I mostly collect Marvel Multi-Mags, and this bag style is an oddball for my collection. 4. I want to know what the free prize is.

12 cent price variant (10 cent circle blackened). Oh I see it now. Cool. You can even kind of see the old price. That was done on the printer, or after?

What's the deal with that one?

How do you all store yours? I store mine in treasury bags and boards so the bag lies flat and I can see the entire thing at once.

There's actually a CGC 9.4 MSH on eBay right now where the label incorrectly states 30 cent variant. The seller does not have it advertised as such.

Well, to be fair, these examples do look like price variants. I've even seen CGC make the variant notation on graded versions of these books. But, no, not variants.
