  1. After I traded it away in 2007, I never saw it appear again.
  2. Similar to my old 4.0 copy but that was due to a printing error per CGC.
  3. Looks like $7k-9k is now entry level cost for this book.
  4. 2.5 - 3.0 I'll guess CGC said 3.5
  5. I believe most of the photo binder books where not physically at that con, but I do recall some of the photo books being present.
  6. yeah, and he was always set up in his usual spot (towards the back) away from the Gold/Silver area with his trademark color photo binders of great books.
  7. This was shocking news last week, and as all have posted already, John was very friendly at cons and his knowledge of golden age comics was passionate, accurate, and helpful. I did one deal with John at SDCC in 1996 for a VFNM Cap 34 (D copy), and it was a pleasant experience. You will be missed John. I pray his family is making it through this difficult and challenging time.
  8. The Hake's Action 7 in 4.0 for $124k seemed like a bargain. I was thinking it would go in the $150k+ range...
  9. in it's raw form, I was thinking 3.0 - 3.5. You can still see faint markings of the "Barbara Campbell" on the HA slab scan. Blue label anyhow you slice it.
  10. nice with full quotes. my old copy that I owned raw.
  11. generous grade of 5.0 IMO with that slither of cover missing from lower right corner edge.
  12. It’s not “wear”. Marvel chipping is a manufacturing defect caused by cheap paper and dull blades used to cut the paper. Most chipping was already present before the book was even on the newsstand.
  13. I've seen AF15s with severe chipping grade as high as 6.5. I personally think severe marvel chipping should put a ceiling grade of 5.0.
  14. Harley had a beautiful CGC 7.5 Tec 225 that appeared to be a legit 8.5/9.0, but it had a dust shadow on the BC. We both agreed that defect cost the book at least one full grade point.
