  1. Shout out to @littlebull; thanks for this gem! Jughead has always been my favorite of Archie's gang. This sweet sketch and color of zombie Jughead holding a gnarly Ronnieburger, done by well-known Archie writer and artist Dan Parent, is just amazing - it looks even better in person!
  2. I thought I read something about the kid from Stranger Things, but maybe that was just a "wouldn't it be cool if..." scenario.
  3. I have a 655, 656 and a couple of 657s, but I should try to grab a couple more 655s. I also have a couple 666s (first Damian as Batman - kind of an Elseworlds style story for those wondering) I grabbed fairly cheap - a raw for something like $3, and a 9.6 graded newsstand that I got for $90.
  4. Ever have LCS owners/workers give you a hard time about checking your phone? I use the notes app on my iPhone to keep lists of stuff I’m looking for, and I’ve had people in the LCS start clocking me as soon as I get the phone out while I’m in the boxes. Nobody has confronted me yet, but I wonder if they think I’m checking eBay sales, etc. against their prices…
  5. That’s actually one of my favorite stories (I was a kid reading those and I wanted to call the number so bad but my parents said no), and funny enough I only own 2 of the 4 issues right now…
  6. $25 a nice price for those too though! Yeah, it’s the good and bad of being a DC collector - you can buy them cheap but they stay cheap. 😂 I think about some of the silver Bat keys I have - on one hand I was happy to afford them, but on the other hand they’re just so ridiculously low compared to Marvel first appearances, and any increases are so slow.
  7. 635 was the biggest - the Hush run was a nice piece of it too, that lot usually goes for at least $100, and I've seen it as high as $150 or more. Here's a link to what I shared in the Collection thread. Zooming in on the 635 there looks like a small tic on the lower spine, but on a good day with a good press it might still hit a 9.8:
  8. It was pure luck - the seller had a bunch of pictures, but the 635 wasn't in any of them, and it wasn't in the title either. But he had a list of all the issue numbers in the description, and it was in there. So I took a blind shot hoping it'd be in there and that it wasn't a beater. Worked out great!
  9. I'm kind of liking Bunny Mask, but it's pretty weird.
  10. I have a similar story with my 635 - lucked into a 130 comic Batman lot on eBay for $176, had a lot of run-filler drek, but it also had 404-407, the entire Hush run (608 was a little beat up, but a newsstand, 609 is a 9.8 candidate) and 635 (also a 9.8 candidate), plus a bunch of minor keys. I traded a bunch of the run filler stuff I either had or didn't care about to an LCS for store credit and just kept the keys and minor keys (475: first Renee Montoya, stuff like that).
  11. I'm not sure if there is a sure way to know without going back and checking now and again. This may have been brought up before, but these seem to be stocked by a third-party vendor and not by Walmart itself, so somebody from this company comes in periodically and puts new packs on the shelves. So I don't know if Walmart employees would be able to tell if they had been sold out. I also wonder if Marvel or the distributor told them to stop stocking any more packs until they get this sorted, given the amount of publicity it's getting from some of the artists who were upset that their exclusives were showing up. That's pure speculation on my part, although I could easily see it happening.
  12. I might actually do the same - if mine doesn’t sell in the next day or two I might pull it and submit it. It’s really clean and being in the back of the pack I think it has a really legit shot at a 9.8, and it is a really sweet cover. Good luck to you too!
  13. I always really liked the Batman: Venom (no, not that Venom) story line from Legends of the Dark Knight 16-20. Also, Going Sane from Legends of the Dark Knight 65-68 is a really cool Joker story too. There are actually quite a few great stories that came out of the LotDK run…
  14. I can tell you my experience of hitting a few stores - these new restocks were picked through even at stores that had older packs sitting. So at least around here, it seemed like people knew what was up and were hunting these, even at the store where I previously got the packs with Venom 25 and Strange Academy 1 that were left sitting in the past…
  15. This is a weird one - I ordered and paid for the 2 Department of Truth reprints and then a few FCBD books online. I got a couple of the FCBD books I asked for (including the House of Slaughter pictured and 2 not pictured), but then I got a couple of different FCBD books than the ones I actually ordered, and then I also got this copy of Last Book You’ll Ever Read, which I didn’t order. I’m totally fine with it, the Slaughter was the only FCBD book I really wanted (Stray Dogs wasn’t offered), and the Last Book cover A seems to be going up a little. But there was no mention why my order was so different. Oh well.
  16. 11 total (7 in 9.8) currently, but I'm guessing that'll change after Season 3 comes out:
  17. I honestly think they're really cool looking, but I personally wouldn't buy them unless I got what I felt was a good deal. And if I was looking to add either to my collection (which I am actually looking to add a Bat 234 at some point), I wouldn't buy a Signature Series, regardless of grade. But again, that's just me. And if I ran across a 2.5 copy of 234 that I got for a deal raw? I'd probably at least consider getting a sig on that and still hunting for a mid- to higher-grade blue label for sure.
  18. Oh nice! Well, it's giving off some Vader vibes...
