  1. Ugh, I'm sorry, that's awful. Any chance of cameras at the storage site? Edited to add: Also, not quite sure why there are laughing emojis in this thread, this is pretty far from funny.
  2. Ha, got it - I don't care, I'm an unabashed Booster fan. If anyone can encapsulate him, it's gonna be Gunn. But I really do like the potential with the Infinite Earths/Multiverse possibilities.
  3. I like Booster. I was just re-reading DC's 52, and I like what they did with Booster in that run.
  4. I also just read the Batman/Catwoman 12 issue run that came out last year, and I found it really interesting. I think I enjoyed it more because I had a familiarity with some of the Batman multiverse stuff and also the run in the current Batman starting with issue 24 (I'm trying to be a bit vague in case you want to read them, I don't want to spoil stuff). Basically, without spoiling anything in Batman/Catwoman, it jumps around in time a lot as a narrative tool, and Tom King (the writer) said it should be viewed as a standalone series outside of regular continuity or canon.
  5. Thanks, kind of a weird little story on those actually! I already owned Nightmares on Elm Street 1-6 and The Beginning 1-2 (which I lucked out on getting those in the first place, won them in a 10-book lot that included those 8 and the 2 Marvel Nightmare on Elm Street magazine issues for $125 total about a year and a half ago). I was considering getting my initial copy of #6 graded, so I posted a "spare a grade" post last Thursday night to see if I could get some consensus on condition. Right after I posted, I decided to look on eBay to see what #6 was going for because I hadn't checked in a while. When I went to eBay, someone had just posted a brand new listing for those 5 books (Nightmares 2, 3, 5 and 6 and Beginning 2) for $55 BIN, so of course I snapped it up right away. I got lucky with the Batman Hush run too, the seller didn't call out the fact that 608, 609 and 611 were newsstands, and I ended up winning the auction for $117.50. I've seen that set in direct editions sell for as much as $175 recently, and a couple of 609 newsstands just sold for close to $70 alone. I'm only a couple of issues away from a full newsstand Hush run now (plus I probably have close to three full sets of the run anyway in mixed direct/newsstand just from picking up books and lots over the past couple of years).
  6. Story-wise, it'd probably be the Catwoman 4 issue mini series from the 80s. Cover-wise, Hughes' Catwoman 51 is probably at the top, though those recent Sozomaika covers were moving like crazy when they came out. Here's the Hughes: Lois Lane 70 is also the first silver age appearance of Catwoman, and Jeph Loeb's "When in Rome" was a decent story.
  7. I made the original comparison to New Mutants 98 because the person who posted said that Batman 655 would never increase in value because it has too high of a census count in a 9.8. I was using NM 98 to illustrate that a book with a massive 9.8 census count can still increase in value based on the demand vs. supply. It's not meant to be a "book vs. book" debate, but rather a supply vs demand example - to say a book would never increase in value simply because it has 950 graded 9.8 copies on the census is silly.
  8. Here are the recent sales for NM 98 - as I mentioned, it's right around $1,500 on average for a 9.8 copy, of which there are 4,000+ on the census: There are 34 listings for Batman 655 in a 9.8 on eBay - some of those are for the variant, some are for lots, etc. That book has been selling 2-3 copies a day since the news came out, hovering around the $340-350 mark. 2 weeks ago you could get a copy for $130 if you were patient. So it's already more than doubled, and that's just on the news of a movie. There are 108 listings for NM 98 in a 9.8 - some of those are for the facsimile, some are for lots. Here's an auction with 24 bids, currently at $1,325 with a day and a half left to go: https://www.ebay.com/itm/403958415665 Here's another with 18 bids, currently at $1,125 with 6 and a half days left: https://www.ebay.com/itm/155390251003 Census count has next to nothing to do with it.
  9. I don't think it's a first edition unfortunately. Here's a guide to Stephen King first editions: https://stephenking.com/other/identifying_first_editions.pdf
  10. I agree, it's weird - CovrPrice only has sales data for 4 sales of graded newsstand copies of this book, and 3 of the 4 are 9.2s.
  11. But it doesn’t make sense to say that a book will never have value based on a “high” census of fewer than 1,000 copies, when we’ve seen multiple cases where really high census counts don’t really negatively impact the overall value of the book. If the Damian Wayne character were to see a massive increase in popularity based on the film and his role in the DCU (similar to Deadpool’s rise in popularity after the Deadpool movies), then the book could definitely rise in value from its current levels.
  12. I use Covrprice currently. As others have mentioned, it has its flaws, but in general it's a nice, visual, easy-to-use platform. I do plan to put together a simple Excel sheet though, especially because I plan to try my hand at some small shows, and I'd like something I can print if needed and/or use offline.
  13. Not that I'm suggesting Damian is currently on the same level as Deadpool, but New Mutants 98 (4,000+ 9.8 copies; $1,500ish FMV) would suggest this isn't necessarily true.
  14. A couple of my favorite books/stories (I own both, but these are stock images): And I know you stipulated Gold/Silver, but I just love this Jim Lee cover:
  15. Did you work on this movie, or is this your fantasy football league punishment?
  16. I grabbed the regular 1-3 (it's a 3-part miniseries) at an LCS the other day for $10, figured it's worth it to have just in case. 3 is "technically" first Damian as officially Robin.
  17. Picked up a lot of stuff in the past week or two - some from the boards (thanks @nicka!), but most from some nice deals on eBay or at LCS's:
