  1. Nice I thought an all Preacher sales thread the weekend it came out would be fun but was worrying the show may suck and the time to sell would have passed. This Sunday is going to rock!
  2. A higher grade copy just sold for $230 so I'd say the book is doing fine. And to be honest it doesn't even look that high grade based on the pictures. I'm going to get in a possible 9.2/9.4 tonight and lets see how that one does at auction.
  3. Nice - I'm free that weekend this may be my first year setting up and attending. Fun.
  4. Any new updates on how its going? I'd love to hear more about the behind the scenes stuff.
  5. yeah, that's about right, the only issues I couldn't find. Wow - 66 does seem to have taken a jump. I think I stockpiled 8 copies that are in one of these boxes. Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to need those copies back that I sold you last year. That's right I did buy 4 copies from you at the Harper show. At least I paid your $6 asking price!
  6. Does this event fill up fast? I've got that weekend free next year so I'm wondering if I should grab a booth now (if its available).

  8. Seriously? Hot damn. I bought a collection five years ago where the original owner had speculated on Kirby 4th World stuff. There's got to be 50 New Gods 7s in the box. Time to get diggin' Apparently. Wow. Nice! My higher grade copy has a tiny spine spit but looks very similar to that one.
  9. Found a nice VF copy of New God's 7 in the Con boxes with a $15 price tag on it. I'll keep that one for a bit. Thanks guys.
  10. Sweet - another book to go see if I've got a couple copies sitting in the boxes.
  11. good. Would work better with a grumpy cat meme.
  12. sold two of those to boardies for $50 each about 9-10 years ago. local pick-up only though. should have held out for more! (thanks again for the deal!) I offered a guy at a flea market $150 for a nice looking one and he turned it down. I don't think he had a price in mind but I couldn't see going much more.
  13. sold two of those to boardies for $50 each about 9-10 years ago. local pick-up only though. should have held out for more! Way more!
  14. I'd take that bet. At this point there is nothing Stan hasn't signed - twice.
  15. They were 1st prints. Wow - let me know if you need anymore ASM 361s in higher grade. I'll sell mine for $60 US and you can make a killing flipping them.
  16. After only one show its tough to gauge how I feel about the characters but I do like the character development so far and the show has a nice "real" vibe to it. I even liked the scared kid with the shiv in school - people just seemed freaked out like they should. Really liked the first episode and would say it stacked up to most of the walking dead episodes I've seen.
  17. Just started watching the 1st season (a little behind on my shows) and really liked the pilot. Lots more drama then the walking dead and felt more in tuned with 28 days later which I loved. I may watch another right now since I'm hooked.
  18. Wow- that's pretty much what I was thinking word for word. Even down to Galaga.
  19. All the inexpensive Avengers 9 got gobbled up yesterday. I was thinking about grabbing a CGC 6.0 at about GPA but passed. The cheapest copy is pretty much double GPA.
  20. I've submitted 3 great copies and got 2 9.6s and a 9.4. That spine always looks weird to me and throws me off.
  21. Sorry to bump a relatively old post, but this and Batman Mask variant were the only ones I bought of the movie poster variants. Just found two more copies of Batgirl for $6 a piece today in a record/comic store. Also, a few months ago I found Prince: Alter Ego 2nd print in a 50 cent box, and a copy of Prince: Three Chains of Gold for $10 at a show this past Saturday (I guess these are technically copper, but whatever). At the time I bought Three Chains of Gold there were only two listings on eBay, one for $170 and one for $500, and plenty of listings for the other Prince comics. I guess that one's the more rare? Also, to echo some fairly recent comments, very happy the first Kate Bishop is doing well. I'd buy any copies of Young Avengers #1 I could find for $5 or less, and I always buy Young Avengers Presents #6 any time I see it for $10 or less. Hopefully, she can get her own book somewhere down the line, but I've loved her being paired with Clint in his book over the last handful of years. As well, what is more sought after, the We Are Robin #1 Duke Thomas variant or Batman #21 regular edition? I found my high grade copy of Batgirl #40 and sold it for $40 on Saturday morning. It looked like the market was getting flooded with copies.
  22. Sell before the pilot airs - just like for every other TV show that isn't named Walking Dead. But what if it becomes as popular as WD? It doesn't matter WD is WD - every other TV show based on a comic book property has followed pretty much the same pattern and it has made no difference whether the show ended up being good/popular or not. That is my thoughts well. I had 6 Preacher #1's CGC 9.8's. I already sold 4 of them, and was holding back 2 till the show started. I can see couple sales of 1k for a CGC 9.8 of #1 but I just don't see how the book will be as popular as WD #1. -higher print run -only 66 issues -limited marketability -religious undertone which leads to controversy Strangely there are more WD #1 9.8s then Preacher 1 9.8 & 9.6s combined on the census. I'm sure there are more raw ultra high grade Preacher 1s floating around but with Preacher 1 CGC 9.8 going for $800 you would think most of the 9.6 / 9.8 contenders would have been subbed.
