  1. Modern Fast Track - 13 Books Received 3/3 Verified 3/4
  2. Anyone know how to improve interview skills? Maybe a couple acting classes or something similar will get you more confident in front of people. I've always been good in an interview and it has helped me a lot more then a resume ever has.
  3. I think you should be ok with the 8300 and VueScan (so you won't have to worry about updated drivers) although I'm using a Mac. Thanks for the info. Just ordered it so my fingers are crossed that its something I can use for awhile.
  4. My HP 8250 is slowly dying and I think the scans could be better. It sounds like a few people are still using the HP 8300 but I'm getting some conflicting info in terms of drivers since I'm using Windows 8. And the only 8300 I can find is a refurbished one on Amazon. Any suggestions but I'm not really looking to spend more then $400 on a scanner.
  5. I had quite a few people ask for Daredevil 131 at the Con last weekend. Seemed like all the dealers were either out or holding it to see where it is going.
  6. For a key book, Giant Sized X-Men 1 seems to be on fire lately. Not sure why but any copy seems to be snatched up lightning quick.
  7. pay my taxes or fist yourself, Janet. You honestly can't comprehend how or why a Canadian tax payer would find this thread upsetting? And if you can't, I've outlined a path moving forward. No matter how upsetting this may be, telling someone to go fist themselves is uncalled for. Address the problem, not the spectators. You are 100% right. My comment was uncalled for. I love a good mea culpa, shows character. Anyone who feels otherwise can go fist themselves. And Gabe, I worked at a Burger Chef for a few years. There is no shame in working a crappy job but there is shame in working that job crappily. Do a good job if they hire you even though it will be unattractive work. Thanks though they must be desperate because they moved the interview earlier. Not nearly as desperate as you should be at this point.
  8. Stop talking about NM 87 already. It's salt in the wound since I sold my CGC 9.8 for $350 cash a month ago.
  9. No way I'd sell at that price. They seem to sell in the $90 - $100 range at Cons and E-Bay occasionally at that grade.
  10. 200 long boxes - definitely worth it to get a mover. I'm only moving around 50 long boxes and even that is a pain. Can't wait to see how it turn out.
  11. Just getting caught up and the space looks great. Love the light colored hard wood floors and all the windows. Now its your job to cover them all up with comic book posters like all the other comic book shops in my area.
  12. I feel like we are living the blind men and the elephant story. Gabe seems unable to fully explain what is happening in his life and one guys grasps onto one reasonable statement and then the next guy is reading something else that Gabe has said that contradicts the other statement. I get more and more confused and it seems Gabe also gets more confused the further we get into the process.
  13. Sorry to hear that . . . Perhaps, but was it really NM? Was it sent in an E.Gerber Mylite2 with a buffered fullback? Was it impeccably packed and shipped immediately? Believe it or not, It's the "wow" things that make a difference. You are sounding like Copper Age Kids a whole lot right here. Maybe While digging a firepit? Its going to be one hell of a pit! how to screen capture
  14. If someone bought a book before the freefall then they make more money the further the loonie drops if sold in U.S. funds. Not sure I follow your logic. Which does nothing for us US sellers since the Canadian buyers have virtually stopped buying books altogether (I don't blame you guys). I guess the Canadian sellers will still make out ok if the price of books drop 20 - 30% since the conversion makes up the difference. I've been saying for 6 months there seemed to be a market correction happening ever since the Canadian currency freefall. Canada is such a small part of the market and you're assuming all CDN buyers manage their funds strictly in CDN. When it comes to high grade "nicer" books I'd say 25 - 30% of my packages where going up north half a year ago. Now I may get 1 in 20 going up north. I'm only one seller but the Canadian market was a huge portion of sales a short time ago.
  15. And with the drop in a lot of books it makes it harder to justify getting books graded or making a purchase of a book anywhere close to GPA because who knows how much lower stuff may be going. Sounds like a domino effect to me. All caused by the plunging loonie.

  17. Thanks man. I thought the Sandman had a good shot but the Y: was a complete surprise.
  18. Finally got my package today - USPS Registered Mail was crazy slow this time. Very happy with the books compared to what I was thinking they would be.
  19. They must be doing something right since the comic shop owner I talked to Wednesday said last month was his best month in over 20 years. And new books were about 90% of his sales for the month. I have not read a new book in probably a year but there must be a ton of people buying books if he can make that claim.
  20. One thing I found interesting is that not one Golden Age comic made the top 1000 in most active list and not many silver age made the most 1000 active list. Is it because of prices or that the interest really is not there compared to bronze, copper or modern? I really found it shocking, especially with golden age. I would have expected at least one GA book would be in the top 1000? I'd be very surprised if a Golden Age book broke the top 1000 just due to the lack of copies in the market compared to the number NM 98 or ASM 300s. And when you factor the crazy number of books like Killing Joke and Legends 3 being bought on E-Bay in a given day you definitely will see a bias toward the newer books.
  21. Just get 'em from this guy CBCS = I'll pass That cover is a bit off putting to me. I do like the future of issue 25, but the print run in through the roof at over 290,000 copies. The 2nd print variant is nice and has a 1/14 of the print run. Last year I grabbed a couple copies of each, and a copy of both of the covers for 34. I definitely like the bloody handcuff cover much better. The running cover definitely does not say "we just killed Captain America" to me.
  22. Last "list" I remember was the infamous list Cal kept of all the people he didn't like. I wonder if this one will get as long as that one.
