9.8 contender got a 9.4? It was a X-Men 244 that I bought on the boards as a NM+. Maybe it was damaged in transit? I'll take a look when it comes in. I'm concentrating more on the 3 9.8 Killing Jokes, 2 CGC 9.8 Catwoman 51 & the CGC 9.8 Lucifer 1. Just got my grades. Very nice! Don't know about tight grading but I got 8 9.8s 2 9.6s and 1 9.4 on the books I thought were 9.8 contenders. A 9.4/9.2 came back 9.2. The Crow 1 that I was hoping for 9.0/9.2 came back 9.0. Very happy with current graders.

As long as I get a ton of 9.8s I'm going to be happy with either case

Thought I saw a couple of these instances which is why I thought rule #1 did not apply if you did not show the label and advertise a certain competitor. I came right out and said it was in a slab and didn't try to hide anything. Incorrect assumption on my part and it won't happen again. Not really much more left to say. Still stuck at scheduled for grading since the 12th. Maybe they got a rush of books after the couple comic cons at the end of last month.

Doesn't take much detective work to see it was my thread so better to discuss it rather then brush it under the rug. Thought I had seen other books sell in a competitors slab and it was cool as long as the label was not showing. Probably saw it before it got pulled. Based on the quick response from the mods I definitely confirmed in my head it's a big no/no. Won't do it again. Of course that was the only book that sold.

Could be an instance where they are going so fast the data entry people are now behind and having to quickly catch up and skipping over a couple inputs stages. From graded to shipped over night is not something I've seen before. My 13 books are still at verified after 8 days - they better get their act together

Wow - a complete set of 1-7 and a Cap 25 for $60. Just another reminder to not do auctions on E-Bay. With Civil War sets sitting $150 I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Digging through boxes and listing my Civil War Sets. I sold a partial set (missing #2) for about $90 a couple weeks ago without any discount asked for. Thought it may be a crazy guy who needed the set but it looks like its going that direction.

I think the difference between a 9.6 and 9.8 on some books is the graders mood and way the light hits the book at the time its graded. I don't think they want to type "because I say so" in the graders notes.

Doesn't take much time to write "two spine ticks on spine" or "blunted corners" in the grading notes. Problem I have is if you send four modern 9.6s back in you will probably get 1 or 2 9.8s out of the batch. May not be worth the time and money but when there is no reason for a 9.6 compared to the 9.8 then you have a problem.

Crazy to think that my recent submittal has been there a week and it may be shipped by the end of next week. Can't beat those turn around times.

Wow - if it only takes 38 business days I might switch over to doing the slow route. The 4 months was too long but 2 months is pretty good.

You called to complain about the potential grades you may be getting?

I haven't shopped on E-Bay in a year at least. Seems to be just too many books to sift thru and I get bored and give up. Much easier to find books in Cons boxes.

I've got two Catwoman 51s in for grading and my fingers are crossed that both come back 9.8s. Love that cover.

How did you do? I've got 13 books I'm now scared to get the grades on. I'm hoping for my usual 7 9.8s and 6 9.6s but if Hector got some duds it has me scared.
