  1. oh hai You heading up to Little Giant in a few weeks? I'm pretty psyched for that show.
  2. I have a slow-track Economy that was "Received" April 1st (HAH!) and has been stuck in G/E/I for 2 weeks with no movement. I have a slow-track Standard that was "Received" May 13th that has also been stuck in G/E/I for 2 weeks with no movement. I have a slow-track Economy that was "Received" May 13th that is still "Scheduled for Grading." We're all in the same boat.
  3. I would guess that if it's a miscut from the printer, then the size would still be the same as a regular book, with the printed image off-center. If it's a (stunningly bad) trim, then it would be smaller than the size of one of its contemporaries. But as Capra said, maybe somebody more knowledgeable will speak up. James seems to imply a crappy amateur job
  4. Do you have a link to this interview, or remember where you saw it? I would love to read it, especially as it seems it isn't all sunshine and roses, and actually has him facing some difficult topics. Apologies if it's been posted elsewhere.
  5. Stains can take a big hit on your grade. I'd submit this to the "Can You Spare A Grade" topic, which is exactly for questions like yours.
  6. It appears that the front cover has a printer crease, and the back cover has some printing ink spillage/smear/whatnot from manufacturing. As these were made during the printing process, and not damage afterward, they are often either not considered by CGC as "defects," or their effect on the grade is minimal. I wouldn't worry about the grade being "fake."
  7. I'm assuming this applies to auto-renewal as well, but I just would like verification My membership is set to auto-renew soon, and I just want to be sure I'm going to get another $150 credit! Will I get notification of having received the credit once my membership renews automatically?
  8. Congratulations on the extremely generous outcome! As my prior comment indicated, I didn't think you'd have a chance in hell of getting anything close to this. Just goes to show you never actually know until you ask! Again, congrats. Though the original dilemma sucked.
  9. Are people still prefacing comic-related news stories with "BOOM POW WHAM"?
  10. I live in Massachusetts and keep my comic collection in the basement. In the summer, I empty the dehumidifier twice a day! In the winter, not at all.
  11. It's TWELVE YEARS LATER. A child born when he bought it would be in 7th grade now. Let it go. Caveat emptor in general, but to bring up something that wasn't noticed more than a decade ago? GTFO.
  12. Blue Beetle #1 is probably the biggest Charlton key, but what do I know.
  13. ....sooooo...a normal Charlton issue, then? LOL
  14. Ship has also sailed on FF #48 & 49 Even getting a 2.0 is over my budget
  15. Modern Comics - I regret missing out on Captain Marvel #14 & 17 (first appearances of Kamala Kahn). I thought I missed out on UF #4, but searched my collection and it turns out I surprisingly had the forethought to pick up a copy (it's still sealed in the original polybag, yet to be slabbed). Bronze - Iron Man #55 & Ghost Rider #1. I had IM 55 on my "want list" for forever, then it exploded. Ghost Rider #1 is the last issue I need to complete the series Same thing with Hero for Hire #1 - the last issue I need to complete my PM/IF run. At least I have a reprint of HfH #1 - to my knowledge, there hasn't yet been a reprint/facsimile of GR #1.
  16. The most common I see are moustaches, but once in a while I see one that makes me laugh out loud.
