  1. Bring back Travis Charest, please.
  2. CGC Promotes Matt Nelson to President, Which We Didn't Have to Do
  3. I think I have the 2nd edition of the Overstreet Grading Guide. It's indispensable.
  4. Thanks; I was wondering that myself. I've come across some books in my collection with that same manufacturer's defect.
  5. @Jkoe....uhhh you may want to call Customer Service about that one.
  6. Sounds like a printing defect, but it's hard to say for certain without seeing pictures of the books. Sometimes the printer runs low on certain colors; sounds like some copies of that book escaped the printer after the yellow had run out.
  7. Typically the "clock" starts when it is received - so I would think 7/2 (when it was received from CCS) would be when the TAT starts. Regarding the billing, their timing on that is all over the place. Sometimes I get billed when my order arrives there and they open it, sometimes further down the line. If it has shipped and you still haven't been billed...well, I dunno..? Congrats on your free order, I guess? LOL
  8. The fact that one of the four big areas of investment for Blackstone is hedge funds does not give me the good feels.
  9. Yeah, honestly, it would be great if the comic companies kept some perpetually in print as long as demand warranted.
  10. When I stopped caring for MCS as a dealer, I went back to Mile High to check it out. I also used to order from them "back-in-the-day," but eventually stopped due to VERY inconsistent grading (the last straw being an issue of Swamp Thing sold as Near Mint - even with the NM sticker on the bag - that looked like it had been dropped in a puddle). Sadly, I can confirm that what mec3437 said is not in any way an exaggeration - even with 75% off, most common, filler issues would still be triple FMV, if not more. I don't know how Chuck can stay in business with the prices for even the most banal issues being sky-high.
  11. For high value, definitely USPS Registered. Cheaper than actually sending via USPS Priority with insurance add-on (needed for insurance over the included $50).
  12. That's NUTS, and no way to run a business. What the H-E-doublehockeysticks
  13. I still use eBay to buy comics I can't find locally, as I don't care for Mycomicshop, and pretty much all the other sites just sell overpriced, high-grade slabs. I'm a "beat-but-complete" kind of guy just trying to fill some runs, and eBay works for me in that regard. I just make sure there are lots of pictures, and check the seller's feedback and selling history.
  14. I have a LOT of books from around that time with similar "waviness." I always assumed it was due to having been stored in a humid environment at one point or another
  15. "Color rub" happens after the book has been printed/assembled. The printing blob would be considered a minor manufacturing issue and likely would not affect the grade.
  16. Let's look in our crystal ball and see what you would get for a grade.
  17. Fast track took FIVE MONTHS to move to "Scheduled for Grading"?? YIKES
