  1. That's a GREAT cover to get signed. (Had the signing happened. R.I.P.)
  2. Over my collecting "career," I've rarely sold books that weren't duplicates. However, the Valiant madness was an exception. I sold all the pre-Unity Valiant books I had during the peak of said madness, and made a tidy profit. A little over a decade later, I replaced them in my collection at, in many cases, below cover price.
  3. Bats #442 has a double cover, but the 1st cover was married onto the book? Why the heck did somebody do that? Weird.
  4. WOO HOO Modern Slow Track sub from 5/24 went to GEI today!! 5/24/22 6 2,400 MODERN Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging
  5. THIS! As long as you follow this golden rule, you'll never be disappointed. (well, rarely)
  6. Literally every time a company has used FedEx to ship something to me, it's been delivered to the wrong address. Even when the company sent a replacement. I don't feel comfortable leaving my valuables in the hands of that establishment. What a disappointing decision by CGC.
  7. Beautiful book aside from those pieces. I agree with the others that said 4.0.
  8. That doctored image of him having a huge line was both hilarious and sad. What kind of person does that?
  9. That option is definitely, 100% on the table for me. That is how much I distrust FedEx.
  10. Ditto! Weird that the first issue of the first miniseries goes for multiples of their actual first appearance. Maybe it's the cover that sells it!
  11. Nice! I have a submission of Moderns from 5/21/22, so hopefully I'll see some movement on those next week! Huzzah!
  12. Somebody PM me when people start seeing movement on submissions from September 2021...
  13. Their first appearance in Ultimate FF was a jaw-dropping twist in the storyline. The first two miniseries by Kirkman are hugely entertaining (if you like really dark comedy). Everything after that was, in my opinion, rubbish. Unfortunately. All of the Suydam homage covers in the various printings of Volume One are awesome.
  14. Aw . Nevermind. THIS IS TERRIBLE NEWS. I don't trust FedEx at all and don't feel comfortable having them handle my collectibles. At all. Ever. I can't overstate how much I hate that I can't use USPS.
  15. Hold on - we can still choose return shipping via USPS, right? Without a PO Box? Every time I've had a company ship via FedEx there has been an issue. One company shipped something, and I didn't get it. Tracking showed it was delivered to a similar street address in the next town over. Company re-shipped. Didn't receive. Requested a THIRD shipment of the same item. This time they used UPS and I got it. I had a COUCH delivered to my house via FedEx that was supposed to go to another address two streets over. Not like I could take the package to the correct address myself, like I had to do with vitamin shipments that arrived on my doorstep via FedEx that weren't for me. I called FedEx and they said they would remove the couch from my driveway and bring it to the correct address within 2 days. They never came, and it poured rain those two days. The rightful owner drove by our house on day 3 and chewed us out for having their furniture(?!). Meanwhile, I have NEVER had anything get lost via USPS. And Registered is not only secure, but CHEAP when you take into account insurance for thousands of dollars. FedEx is run by clowns. Please tell me I can still use USPS. I would never in my life trust collectibles in the hands of FedEx. EVER.
  16. I was gonna say, why does this issue of Ronin have a picture of my parents fighting on the cover?
  17. A bit rich for my tastes! SW #1 and IF #14 especially! Forget it! LOL I do have two 35-cent variants, though, in really beat up shape. One is a Howard the Duck, the other is Captain Marvel (or is it Iron Man?). I got them for super cheap due to condition, but I had to have them for the sheer novelty.
  18. Yeah, I think I remember seeing those barcoded Sandmans at Waldenbooks.
  19. Also posted in the Death/Reign of Superman/men thread, but also of interest to fans of the DCU Variants! Thank you, @revat for giving me something new to hunt for now that my want list to complete runs is nearly finished :P I was pretty psyched to find these in the 50-cent bins. Man of Steel #20 2nd print Superman #77 2nd print Adv. of Superman #498 4th

  21. Got a LOT of post-2000 newsies last weekend for $1-2.00 each. I'm still sorting those. But in the meantime, here are some X-related newsies I recently got for $3 or less (most $1.00 each):
  22. Current TAT: Economy (Pre - 1975): 232 days (Fast Track: 23 days) OUCH. I'm not spending another $150 just to get my 10-book orders back faster, but holy cow that's quite the spread.
  23. And this is why I stopped sending 2 copies of the same book in one order. When they are close in grade, it's impossible to know if they got accidentally switched.
