  1. I also love the coolness factor of having the sealed multipack.
  2. That's a tough one. It will NOT increase the value of you have him sign and re-slab, because it was unwitnessed by CGC and they will not consider it an authentic autograph. As already said, the presence of ink on the cover (i.e. the signature) could actually lower its grade. Having said that, if you're looking to hold onto it as a keepsake, I think it would be a fine idea to crack it, get it signed, and then re-slabbed just because that would look attractive in the CGC case
  3. The space the bubble mailer takes would drive me crazy! Having said that, I see no "problem" with your idea.
  4. I think Jennifer F. said in the Ask CGC section that they are working on being more consistent with billing. The goal is to bill as soon as it is in the system, but I don't know if they've made that adjustment yet. I know in the past, the billing time has varied wildly. One time I got simultaneously billed for submissions that were months apart.
  5. I'm nearly 100% certain you will not be able to "save" your custom label, but if that label is still available you could probably request it. If that specific design has been retired, you're out of luck, because labels for reholders get automatically updated in case they have new information (e.g. a 1st appearance that wasn't noted on old labels).
  6. I hope it ends up being #3, because I stopped reading after #4. I don't even know why I got #4. Holy cow, the idea of Banner running Hulk like a giant mecha is incredibly stupid (in my opinion).
  7. A lot of Marvel comics from around that time have that line - about a half to 3/4 of a centimeter from the spine, running the length of the book. It's very common, and I've seen it to varying degrees - sometimes almost imperceptible, other times severe.
  8. Wow, this is super helpful. I have a TMNT #3 signed on the inside front cover by Eastman in the late 1980s with a little turtle head next to his signature. Good news: it looks like I'll get a blue label. Bad news: Slabbing it means I won't get to see the awesome sig and remarque
  9. Any word from anybody on where they are at with Economy Slow Track? Has anybody that submitted in Sept. 2021 gotten their books back? A few weeks ago some folks stated they got their Economy Slows from August. I'm hoping they've at least moved into the September submissions, even though mine have a received date of 9/28/21
  10. For real. I learned my lesson. I've had 2 submissions that had 2 copies of the same book, where the lower graded copy looked better than the one that graded higher. I won't ever make that mistake again. Multiple copies of the same book are going in separate submissions from now on, unless there's a clear separation in grade (e.g. two copies of FF #52 where one is clearly in the 4.0 range, and the other in the 6.0 range). I pity those that submit 25 copies of the same book, never knowing now many had swapped labels.
  11. Yeah, if we could see the stain on the back cover, that would explain a lot. A stain can ding you big time. Nice Newton Rings, though.
  12. Maybe no UPC on this newsstand edition because it was part of a multipack sold on newsstands? There were polybagged issues sold that had all the variants in it, if I recall correctly. That's the only excuse I can come up with, but then I don't know how you would distinguish an newsstand "no-UPC" from a direct "no-UPC."
  13. I have used the Overstreet Grading Guide (2nd edition) for a very long time as a grading standards reference, and it had made me pretty close regarding what to expect when my books return from CGC (barring some outliers).
  14. Added some Silver & Bronze raw ASM books to eBay. I've been a member of the Bay since 1999, and have nearly 3k feedback as buyer and seller, though it's been a while since I've seriously posted things for sale. Holy cow posting is time consuming. Also posted my undercopy of ASM #38, CGC 3.5. djzombi on eBay
  15. I'm also on eBay, occasionally active as a seller. I used to sell a lot of non-sports cards, now trying to find the time to sell undercopies from my comic collection. CGC handle: djzombi eBay handle: djzombi djzombi on eBay
  16. The Barbie final issue is "hilarious" in that there's actually an ad to SUBSCRIBE to the title, and the letters page asks readers to write in and be published in future letter columns! OOPS
  17. I have some advice for Chris Evans, but he will have to come to my house to hear it.
