I logged into check if my cards went from grading to finalized and the TATs doubled over night lmao. Goodness.

So basically price increases only worked short term, now people are paying more for higher tier service instead lol

People also paid up front in the beginning. The fact that you get charged later could be why they are being slammed. Just submit 1000s of cards and only pay months down the road lol. The fact that walktrhough is only $75 just feels like a steal. There isnt any company that grades for any dollar amount in that short of time on the market.

Howdy I'm having a hard time finding info on these, have some of the 1996 Pokémon vending machine sticker cards and was wondering if these are gradable?

    hmm.jpg

They arent licensed product nor are they tcg products, so no they arent. Alot of the vending machine stuff is actually bootleg but theres people out there who still put value on it. How much its worth, I have no idea.

They are hiring like crazy and someone speculated that they are adding physical space. So did PSA. The processes involved in grading aren't easily scalable. If it were, there would be new entrants into the marketplace doing it better/faster. All the grading companies are watching mail trucks dump millions of cards in their warehouse, knowing there's just no way they can get to it quick enough. Back to econ 101, these are capacity constraints interacting with an industry with very high barriers of entry and low scalability of capacity. It's a linear function, which is why they can make the estimates in the first place, so long as they know how many cards are going to land in their lap. If those estimates on the # of cards coming in spike, I will let you figure out what it does to the linear function that spits out how long it will take for the order to come out.

Just ignore this guy. Talking to him is like walking to a wall. No matter how sound your logic is, hes just never going to listen. The people who dont adjust and sit around complaining arent worth an ounce of your energy.

  4. Kinda shocked it jumped that far but at the same time, yeah they need to slow down people submitting. Their estimates are conservative though. I dont expect them to actually be 110 days since they are hiring more people and opening a new facility. All my standard orders been going through but the bulk has been painfully slow.

I would just would give up on bulk though. Not every hyper rare from a new set is worth grading and thats probably what CGC wants to wade out. All these 5-10 amazing rares dont deserve a case.

Bulk is at 79 days, what are you talking about? That’s 4 months and the PSA spike hasn’t even been realized yet. It’s okay for us to discuss this stuff openly, we don’t need a forum arbiter always downplaying any constructive discussion on this forum.

It says 79 days but people are getting them back in 60 something days. Bulk and economy submissions from 1st week of december have been worked on and shipped this week, so thats 3 months and not 4. They will be coming back this year. You might want to read previous posts before coming to conclusions.

Hahaha lol very true.. wish it wasn't but you are so right...

They will be back this year. Its just a 60 something day wait right now. Standard seems to be flowing just fine though. I got a standard order from 2/6 that was shipped today. Im probably going to avoid bulk moving forward since its very time consuming wait wise. Standard or higher seems to be going good.

I really believe we just witnessed a birth of a CGC Karen here......Literally talks about solving things in person a cool professional manner then gaslights the people they want to talk to on the forums. You wanna handle something? Talk to the people in charge, not the media. What this person did was the equivalent of witnessing what they believed to be robbery and vandalism, and instead of reporting it to the police, you know, the people that could actually do something about it, they take an article out in the newspaper and talk about it there, or do a news interview and put the person on blast. If you have valid concerns, talk to the people that can do something, otherwise every roast you receive you are well deserving of because you're airing out personal business between you and a company. To do it on their own forums as well is the equivalent of being a Walmart employee and showing up to Targets team meetings and putting them on blast in their own store.....

The karens of CGC are why people like Mark Zuckerburg are so rich. Its the biggest waste of time on the planet to go on the internet and act like a karen and these media companies are making bank due to people who fall into this tuff. Like, nobody cares about these peoples opinions yet they act like they are the president and they have a camera on them 24/7. No sorry, but if your grading pokemon cards, chances are they not some super important person that has the whole world paying attention to them. Being a random dude sitting in their basement in their underwear raging about Pokemon cards doesnt make them special.

But ive just started to learn to ignore these people. If they want to live a life of misery, thats on them. Ill keep using CGC since they help me with business and be happy while they can cry all day about how horrible it is. They are just doing a disservice to themselves.

Good to know. Curious when you get billed/invoiced? I've got 2/11 and I am thinking it will move along this week. They didn't trim from 25 to 22 days on standard without knowing how this was going to go.

I already paid. Submissions before feb 16th you had to pay in advance. Anything after that, they bill you later. I have no idea when they bill you now but I heard its when it goes to scheduled to grading but I do not have anything being graded right now from after the 16th.

  9. 4 hours ago, UncSven said:

Anyone that got scheduled for grading today, I would very much appreciate an update from you!

Surprisingly got a scheduled for grading on saturday...on a standard submission from 2/6. My bulk and economy are still sitting here. Strange that standard is going so fast but bulk/economy move a snails pace. Regardless, people are having their orders moving along. I have one from 12/7 and expect it to be done this week most likely.

It quite literally depends on the buyers. If I'm in the market for a card, and it's between one with subgrades and one without, I'd pay a little more of a premium for subgraded card, especially since I'll know what's wrong with it and whether it could possibly regrade or cross grade. And as others above me have said, it really starts mattering with those higher grades. If I see a very very strong 9.5 that is a .5 subgrade away from a 10, that's a better potentially of an increase grade in regrading than something that just has a base grade and might need to go further before it could jump up.

Thats if you have luxury of being able to be picky. When it comes to auctions, whatever is up is whatever people can bid on. And .5 difference really starts to become a matter of discretion at that point. Most of the time, its just a matter of luck if a card is graded a 9 vs a 9.5 since in reality, most cards of those grades are literally the same exact thing. Even with 10s, Ive never seen 10s that are very much different than a 9.5.

In terms of end consumers though, nobody pays premiums for subgrades. I dont even think most resellers will pay the difference since hedging on something like that is kind of gambling at that point. Not really a for sure thing if a card with some 10 subs will change if you sent it somewhere else. A card without subs would have the same chances of moving up or down grades since it all comes down to opinion and the eye appeal alone gets changes in grades.

  11. 1 hour ago, Mephisto said:

With vintage Magic it definitely makes a difference with higher grade cards. I’m not even talking super high grade but I’ve seen significant differences between 9’s that were Quad + vs Quad ++.

Not sure if it is different in the world of Pokémon.

It might matter with Magic but it makes zero different with Pokemon. Literally zero difference in terms of resale value. A card with 3 10s and 1 9 vs a card with 2 2 10s and 2 9s has no difference in terms of resale value. Ive sold quite a few 9.5's with varying subgrades and it didnt gain me more money than the market rate of the card.

Im reading people saying that they wouldnt buy cards without subs, but the data on ebay says differently. Zero premium what so ever, unless its perfect 10 (4 10s) verses pristine 10 (no subs but 10 overall grade). All that matters is the number.

  12. Subgrades....barely matter.

Ive sold plenty of CGC cards through the PWCC auction house and nobody cares about them. Even if you have 2 10s or 3 10s, it makes zero difference in its resale value. The grade of the card is all that matters.

The only times subgrades actually matter in terms of resale value is trying to get the perfect 10. A perfect 10 requires subgrades. Otherwise, you just get a pristine 10. Its similar to BGS's Black Label verses a non-black label 10 in terms of value.

For the most part, yeah subgrades are a waste of money. Only use them if you think your card can be perfect and is old. New stuff, I dont see the point for the most part since getting a 10 in general is extremely hard and chances of getting a perfect 10 just doesnt justify throwing away the extra fee most of the time.

I am getting my final Bulk submission ready to mail out tomorrow, and I am prepared to not get it back this year.

The writing is on the wall: CGC's natural exponential growth + the mass exodus from PSA + slabbing any card at $9/card is guaranteed profit + stimulus checks + booming card market = you are going to WISH Bulk was still only 4 months here very shortly.

Or you can just keep complaining on here and we can all come back in a month and laugh.

lol thats a stretch. The pandemic wont last the whole year and when its over, there is going to be a huge drop in demand for this stuff. I been in the gaming card industry for 7 years now and everything happening is mostly due to production issues. Never in the last 6 years has stuff happened like its happening now and it probably wont last.

Thats not to say that there wont be money to made, since there is (and been making it for 6 years before this) but it just wont be stupidly easily like it is today. You wont be able to go to walmart, clear out the stock and flip it online since cards will be everywhere like they were in 2019. And same with grading, its going to chill out once people go back to work and people move back out of their parents place and not everyone is bored at home trying to feel like a kid again.

You could be right but just from my experience, I dont see this lasting forever but will ride the wave until the hype train dies out while I run off into the sunset with a ton of money lol. Im sure CGC will have to lay off a ton of people sometime this year since once everything is caught up and once logan paul finds some new scam to milk kids for, its going to be like 2001-2002 all over again (the time period where pokemon as a fad died out and the market tanked).

Pretty sure they tell you to write it on the box with a sharpie or something. They get tons of packages a day. The ones that are marked WT or EX get opened first because of the grading tier. Yours probably got lost in the mix because they couldn’t easily identify it.

Oh thats weird. I thought maybe they were reading the labels since I sent it in an envelope and most of my orders get logged in normally. Live and learn thing. Thanks for letting me know for the future.

  15. 5 minutes ago, C2N0 said:

Did you mark the box WT? I don’t know much about weekends either so maybe reduced staff for receiving orders (if they’re even open that is).

Its on the shipping label. Every time I ship I just put it on the label where you would put an apartment number or a company name (whatever spot its in). Not sure if thats correct but thats just what I been doing. I dunno if i mentioned this on this thread, but im not up in arms about anything since it was just a Charizard VMAX shiny that I pulled from a pack and want to send it to auction and if other people are having their orders take forever, then im not worrying about it becoming devalued since the market isnt going to get flooded anytime soon and ill be fine in terms of what I get for it.

That's why I think they need a specific spot on the website that show's what submissions they are working on by month. I know you said cgc shouldn't have to do that but what other solution do you have besides telling people to be patient and stop acting like children. That's obviously not going to help anyone and only causes issues like the drama we see now. Also the problem with posting what subs they are currently working on in the forum is not everyone knows there's a forum. I only found out about the forum last month. There's probably a big majority of people that also don't know about it. So they are left in the dark and once they do find it, I'm sure they are already frustrated with the situation. All I'm doing is trying to suggest a solution

Yeah like I said, your not wrong. I just know that its impossible to completely please everyone and even if you make a website or service user friendly, there is just always people who will send emails without saying who they are, what their order # is and start demanding to know things. I run a store and constantly get people asking "where is my order", yet have no clue how to properly address someone. Yeah, let me tell you about your order since im some kind of psychic that knows everything lol. I just happen to know all 100+ people who order from me and can magically tell you things without any sort of way to look you up in the system...

If people really wanted something like that, they need to tell the staff though. They need to go on the staff part of the website and put in a request. People need to make an effort if they want something. Ranting on the forums mindlessly isnt how things get done. You have to get in touch with who has some sort of authority and make it clear what your looking for. CGC has taken some feedback on here, but they would take things more seriously if people were more rational and focused more on the issues instead of getting crazy about it.

  17. 34 minutes ago, johnnyms said:

Yeah I just think that if that's the case then there really shouldn't be a tat on bulk or economy. That way people won't have expectations as to when their subs will be done. That's what psa just did. You don't even see a tat under any of the services. It just says tat impacted. you cant even submit under economy either. They don't want to give unrealistic expectations to their customers. They are basically saying we are so backed up that we can't give you a tat so submit your cards at your own risk lol.

With standard or above, it seems to be on point. But Bulk or economy, its just a weird situation since the changes happened very recently, as in only a month ago. If it gets to that point to where they dont know the TAT, then im sure they will let people know, but right now its in a flux. Its probably going to stablize at some point since it cannot go up indefinitely.

I think someone else mentioned it on the 100 other threads but Paul already said that they are working on December's bulk/economy. I dont know how many more times he can repeat that. Its like a little kid asking 100 times if we are there yet and its like "no timmy, we arent there yet for the 100th time" even though its only been like 2 seconds.

  18. 1 minute ago, johnnyms said:

I mean like give us an update on where they are at in terms of submission dates. I think I seen an admin say they are currently grading subs from early December. Like give us an update every couple weeks that we can see on the website. I think at that point people would have an idea of how close there stuff is to getting pushed through the process. People being left in the dark is what's causing all this frustration imo

I dont think your completely wrong but at the same time people would probably still complain. They should make a posted note of where orders are at for the people who have to hear it from them. I just think that most people dont really need to be told by CGC what is going on to have an idea where things are at. If they said early December is where they are at on bulk, then thats where they are at. Not to sound philosophical, but I dont know why some people need to be told things instead of coming up with their own original thoughts. If we know everything is backed up and its just a waiting game, then we dont need CGC to tell us that. I know not everyone can think independently but some people just dont seem to even try to make an effort to figure stuff out on their own.

All of this chaos is making me meh lol. I've been trying not to bother anyone because I sent it 113 cards to be graded (misc services bulk, bulk + sub grade, + economy w subgrade). I got a USPS notification saying my package was delivered on February 12. (I even signed up for delivery confirmation to be extra certain. It's still not showing any submission received for me today on March 3rd. Mind you, I threw down a huge order so I figure it will take some time. Monday Feb 14 was President's day, pretty sure that is not a business day. It's been about 13-14 business days now and my submission has not been received. Anyone ever send in a larger order during a busy time and have an idea of how long something like that could take?

Not stressing, just curious about your speculation/ estimates. Also, I'm seeing a lot of mixed info about when the card is charged. Is it when my submission gets received or is it after things are completed? (I'd love to use this money to buy some stocks or other investments right now while the opportunity is ripe.)

Yeah you might need to contact customer support on that one. I submitted a big submission around the 10th and it got logged in on the 17th. It shouldnt take more than 2 weeks. I submitted a walkthrough order last week and it hasnt been logged in today which is a little strange but I been hearing its like 7-10 days at the moment in terms of logging. With your case, its unique so yeah thats a bit longer than Ive seen to be logged in.

Just ignore them, they are trying to make people rage if you disagree with them. They like trolling/bullying people for hours. I stopped commenting for this very reason. They shouldn't even comment if they have nothing to say. All I have heard is the same stuff over and over. Sucking up to the fact that were getting pushed further and further. With no explanation if we're ahead of the new bulk people... I left for a while and came back just to see the same people ranting...

Nobody is trying to you off or bully you. Its more like your given answers that you do not want to hear. We keep explaining to you that CGC is overloaded and the industry as a whole is swamped and things keep getting pushed back, yet you cannot come to terms that its an industry and not a CGC issue.

Im sorry that I think your acting childish and very stupid after I explain over and over again the same facts and you refuse to listen. I cant imagine people having patience when we already laid out the facts and they just will not click with you. At this point, yeah you have yourself a personal problem since your given all the information and cannot come to terms with it. Please do not post again since ya, your just wasting your time when you do not want anyone to tell you how things are and just want to accept your own version of reality.
