  1. What you should have said that you visited the bank to change your underwear after this beautiful display of books. I know for sure Batman_Fan would
  2. The cover to Tec 29 is also one of my favorites and definitely up there with the top Batman covers of all time. With Tec 31 the reason why I love this cover so much is because Batman is smack in the middle, big in size, hovering over a castle with its eeriness and darkness features. Also you gotta love the long pointy ears too! With Tec 29, the one that grabs my attention is the Bat cape stretched out.
  3. I see, that one makes more sense for the given grade.
  4. My question is, where can I buy just a 2nd lid for a short or long box? I don't think any vendor I came across would not sell just the lid without buying the box as well.
  5. Congrats on the nice pickup! It does look better than a 1.0.
  6. Or have your raw books sent in for restoration screening so you can save on CGC fees if resto. is found.
  7. I don't quite get the "small crease right top of whole book" note. What did CGC mean by whole book? I couldnt see it on the scan. I would think a whole book crease would be fairly large.. It's a superb copy. Without seeing it in hand, I agree that it's a 50/50
  8. I guess we shall see what happens in the future. Before this huge surge in price increase, the book has had steady growth and yes I don't think prices will get down to what it was a year ago. I see this book acting like how AF 15 did last year where it also went to astronomical price levels than had a recent pullback a few months ago. Some thought too that prices will keep going up, but guess what it didn't. With more IH 181 copies made available than AF 15 in practically all grades, I don't see why IH 181 would be any different than AF 15's slight dip. AF 15 is arguably the 3rd most important book in the hobby too!
  9. If anyone is looking to buy a copy, I would wait and see if prices start plateuing and/or a pullback. I agree with alexgross that there will come a point where prices will stabilize and get back to reality.
  10. Now with the $, you need to work on a Bob Storms shrine
  11. Not to be rude or anything but just wanted to say.. WE KNOW! You keep repeating yourself about your sale of $55K with Bob last fall over and over again. Everyone on here plus their grandmas and pets know already. It's all over the radio, newspaper, and billboards. Even Buzz Lightyear who first step into the moon knows. Congrats you sold at the right time so just move on from it please. Majority here are tired of reading the same line from you.
  12. The brittle pages, multiple tape pieces, rusty staples, missing pieces here and there.. I wouldn't be surprised if it underwhelms in auction. Also sellers reputation is not a good one either if it is still him who owns it.
  13. I think the Cap 1 should close higher than the Action 1 given it's complete, universally and higher graded. Should be at least a $225k book.
  14. if it's not the first superman v. flash race, i'll have missed my bet. You heard it first!!
  15. Last year AF 15 was the hottest SA book of the year, this year it is FF 1. What will it be next year?
  16. Flip a coin, might be best to get your answer that way
  17. So this is fresh on the market, never been placed up for auction? I do recall seeing a restored cgc 0.5 copy some years back
  18. Congrats on the buy! I'm sure they can work it out with you somehow. You may get a credit card % charge though as a buyers premium.
  19. Looks like FF 1 has caught up with Hulk 1 values at least in low to mid grade
  20. The Ebay Action 1 is missing the cf too on top of the restoration work already done. Just a fyi when anyone is planning on bidding. Not a bad looking entry level copy.
