  1. Yep even at $350k it was still a steal of a price. Lucky buyer.
  2. I'm very familiar with that copy. It's a copy I almost bought back when it was fresh to the market. Oh well.. I still want it, but can't pay current price. Does it still belong to Court?
  3. Ugh that AC 1 CGC 6.0 book sold for a bargain even at that time. It was like yesterday when I was watching the extended bidding count at CC. I really wanted to bid on the book but am not a big player with that kind of $ to. If I did though, the bidding would be a lot more. I was surprised that it ended for that much, I expected at least $500k. Now the book is probably worth around $700-$800k?
  4. I've also have had a difficult time determining fmv for restored and conserved books. It's just how much restoration work was done and what specifically was done. I think it's somewhat impossible to calculate an exact value. Some people would take the original unrestored grade of the book pre-restoration and add the restoration work to determine fmv. Others use the %'s like what Ben posted. I feel that it is really up to the buyer and how much he/she wants to pay for that book.
  5. So are we talking GA then? If so, I'd put Marvel 1, AS 8, Pep 22, AA 16, Whiz #2(#1)
  6. That certainly looks like ct to me unless the lighting and/or angling of the book against the light created that kind of effect.
  7. I already have a few people in line for it. Not selling so yeah
  8. I have a low grade Supes 1 and not letting it go for $50k that's for sure
  9. I do love my AF 15 and need to own a copy, but I'm more of a GA collector at heart and there is so much great books up for sale now and later on this year. Selling my AF 15 would definitely help big time to fund some of the books I am eyeing. I dunno, we'll see how I feel...
  10. I thought about putting a strong bid on the Fantastic 3 book, but since I have a copy and I don't want to be selfish to have a 2nd, I'll let you guys bid among each other
  11. And there's a chance that you might get rabies
  12. As I've said before, there is no way anyone who is selling a copy will do a discount on it because it will eventually sell. It's such a very fluid book and a safe bet.
  13. Yep I get it it's baseball season. I love talking about sports too but it should be in a separate thread with the proper title and should not deviate away from the original post, just my opinion. Anyways, carry on.
  14. Would be nice if my mattress was stuffed with $100 bills instead of springs
  15. This thread quickly turned into a baseball thread Might as well rename it
  16. Why thank you kind sir It's a must have issue!
  17. Well, looks like I need to thoroughly search my couch and underneath my mattress to see if I have any money hiding so I can try to win a book or two from the Berk collection
  18. Same... I'm still trying to find 2009 prices for these books. Can't seem to find any
