  1. The last couple of sales with this grade this year were $122k and $117k. Last year in 2022, the last sale before it went spiraling down was around $200k. Looks like the trend so far is rising from the lows. We'll see if this keeps up. This is only one sale, need a few more.
  2. Strong price for the CGC 7.5 copy that ended at Hakes tonight. Hammer price was a shade under $171k. Where's Batmanis#1 to comment on this!?
  3. I was also shocked at the results for both the ASM #1 CGC 9.6 (a record price selling for that much! Last sale was last year for $336k old label). And a huge bounce back for sure for AF 15! It sure was a pretty looking 7.5, which in fact helped the hammer price. I even considered bidding on it, but I have books higher up on my wantlist. I mentioned this a couple weeks back at another thread, but I feel that we are seeing SA keys bouncing back up in prices from the lows of earlier this year. I expect this trend to continue... We'll see..
  4. Sunday was indeed a pretty busy day for comic dealers. A lot of sales were going on left and right. I was helping out my buddy's booth on Sunday and it was the most customers he's had than all the previous days combined! They did very well actually. Oh and let's not forget the huge sale one dealer made on preview night I believe. It was one of the talks of the convention.
  5. Some relatively strong prices for ASM and AF 15 books that ended at Hakes tonight
  6. Yeah the buyer was indeed wondering where the book was because there was no activity with tracking. It was "stuck" at the place where it departed for a week and a few days. I needed to do my due diligence and make that call to USPS and see what's going on. The post master emailed me saying that they were going to look into it at the last place the package was. It may have been stuck there for whatever reason. But, I'm glad it was found and delivered safely. The thing is, I have used Registered Mail a handful of times in the past. But the last time I used it before this current one was roughly around 5 years ago. At that time, I felt that the delivery was quicker. Same also when CGC used to mail me back my books after being graded by them, they were delivered to me in 5-7 business days through RM. So, I dunno. Maybe I was one of the unlucky ones where the package was temporarily misplaced.
  7. I recently mailed out a high valued book via USPS Registered Mail. Boy, it took quite sometime to get to the buyer.. Roughly 2.5 weeks! Not only that, but I had to call a USPS agent to try and search for the package because there had been no tracking activity for more than a week. I really thought it was lost!! Sure enough right after I made that call, the next couple days it arrived at the destination then was being prepared to be delivered. I dunno if I can go through registered mail again.
  8. I saw the Blue Beetle trailer. Thought it looked like a bootleg Iron Man movie
  9. I also mentioned that I had a hunch that when the values of silver age, bronze, copper, etc would start declining during the bubble burst, golden age books would climb in value. So far it's going as predicted. I'm thinking now that silver and bronze have platued and leveled off. I don't see a huge drastic dip in values like the last year or so. I believe slowly silver will start climbing up gradually, bronze will maybe stay at around these same values and golden age will see a step down from its strong performance from the huge rise beginning with the Promise collection end of 2021.
  10. Anyone else got tracking or their books back recently?
  11. Sometimes scarce books go through periods of relative plenty, when copies are available in seemingly every auction. Marvel 1 was like this years ago, multiple copies changed hands in a short period, copies were repeatedly sold/resold, etc. That book was "common"....until it wasn't. Books eventually find long term homes and disappear for decades and after awhile those "common" issues aren't so common anymore You are absolutely correct that some books come in cycles. I made a post about it a couple years ago I believe also about the Marvel 1 which I counted in the Heritage archives and put out some data on how many copies sold since 2000s. And the cycle was there where during certain period of time, we would see 2-3 copies for sale for a few years and then just 1 copy or less thereafter on average. So we might be seeing this same effect with Supes #1. Again these past few years has been the most amount of copies I've seen this book sell. Hopefully a good majority of the ones that sold land in good home and longer hold times.
  12. I guess my crystal ball worked that time as projected . I was trying to warn everyone on here about what I'm predicting. Hopefully most people listened
  13. With so much Superman 1 copies up for auction/sale the past 2-3 years, it seems that the number of copies sold were more than a Bat 1 or Cap 1. After seeing copy upon copy in practically every event/main auction, this book doesn't seem so "rare" and has definitely changed my perspective of this book in terms of rarity.
  14. Not sure where in the house the books were stored but the original owner placed several books (maybe around 6-8) inside a bag and each bag stacked inside several boxes that kinda looks like those printer paper box with the lid. Most of the books if not all have gone through the pressing, dry cleaning, etc. process.
  15. Can you imagine that if it weren't for the OP who started this thread, who knows if any of the submitters on these boards would at least get their books back!?! This situation is insane!! Glad I never sent any of my books to Hero. There are only a select few whom I would entrust my books with.
  16. Dang what a steal based on the small amount of books that were mentioned. I figured at least $500k, anything less would be a bargain! I don't think they would be able to fork over/ offer a million $ for the collection.
  17. Very sorry Mike to hear about your passing of your mother. My prayers and condolences to you and your fam 🙏
  18. I bet GoldenAgeGuru and ComicTom bought it for a great price if it were only 3 parties who were doing the bidding. If this was auctioned off publicly with Heritage or CC, the owners would've gotten more for the collection.
  19. I'd rather have that than the Supes #1 CGC 7.0 that sold for a $1 million loss
