  1. Looks like Jessica Jones is being very well received. Strong reviews on Rotten (89%) and Metacritic (universal acclaim from users). I usually put more stock in the user reviews as a lot of the professional reviews seem to be paid for/pumped up by content holders. Though we should also be cautious as it is early days and there might be a strong response bias from those who love the show to review immediately.
  2. Not ever thing that comes out from Marvel is going to be kid friendly. Or maybe you haven't seen any of the Punisher films, or the DD movie, or the DD TV show. They make Saturday morning cartoons and some of the lighter films for that. There's a place for light and a place for dark. Jessica Jones is far less violent than the DD TV show was thus far....or is it the bumping uglies that turned your milk sour? + 1 or the entire line of Marvel Max imprint.
  3. $900 less than what it just sold for five months ago.... But $2100 more than what it sold for 15 months ago. -J. and here I thought it was roughly a 6k/point book based on many recent posts... That "PPP" math breaks down once you get past 1.8. I'm not sure that method of pricing could ever effectively be used for AF 15. -J. I have to agree with Jay. I doubt that the line of best fit is linear. They eye watering prices we see for HG books indicates something other than a straight line.
  4. There are a lot of nice slabbed copies of some of these books in current auctions that may go for less than people are paying for these raw copies...feeding frenzy...speculation... Perhaps, although the majority of the books are in the lower grades. Right, that's my point, people are bidding up lower grade books in a frenzy when slabs with confirmed grades are at least currently auctioning for less. Look at the Menace 11 on Clink.... Anyway, the auctions are early so it may not pan out that way, but it is interesting. I checked both auctions and you're right. Remarkable. I don't bother tracking their auctions. It's not that there is anything wrong with them, there isn't (and that's kind of the point), but they achieve above market prices on a lot of the auctions. Overpaying is not my thing. are you referring to clink or comics4less?

Anyway, the auctions are early so it may not pan out that way, but it is interesting. I checked both auctions and you're right. Remarkable. That's because the guys buying raw books are often collectors who don't care for GPA or slabbed books. They're just collectors who want a copy of a book. The guys buying slabbed books are part speculator / part collector. This just reinforces my belief that there are multiple types of markets out there. It also crushes the idea that just because it's slabbed it sells for more. On this particular occasion with this particular seller. I also think that the guys buying the raw books are equally likely to be speculators, rolling the dice on the pretext that the book might be undergraded and presumably unpressed. Almost certainly true. +1
  6. That is my favorite in the Fight run. You have great taste!!
  7. The two are pretty sweet as well (Street and Smith is overlooked in my opinion): Very happy to say this is my actual copy (courtesy of the esteemable October)
  8. I don't believe I ever had any Funny Animal Comics with Hitler on the cover...but I will check it out. I'm sure there must have been some as Hitler was such a hated figure in those days. mm Look forward to it. some issues to look for: Terrytoons 7 Taffy Comics 2 Super rabbit 1 Krazy Komics 9 Jolly Jingles 12 Comedy Comics 20 Comedy Comics 22 Superduck 1
  9. Hey Marty Do you have any funny animal books with Hitler covers? If you had seen one as a kid, what would you have thought of it? In today's environment they seem outrageous, but I guess back then they were par for the course?
  10. Amazing. All those Cole covers next to each other sure do pop.
  11. Outstanding was this the one from the "Albany" collection superworld just posted? Again, beautiful - congrats. Yes, I see the Terrific 5 is gone, as well as others. The Albany is rehoming nicely. Congrats to Ted Yes, it looks like a lot of books there this morning are long GONE, wish he still had scans up of what sold, would be interesting to see. Any other big books aside from the Terrific 5 CGC 8.0? Likewise, the missing images make it hard to recall. I had tunnel vision at first glance and everything else was a blur. Damn I would like to know also.
  12. 26 is the first appearance of Terra Duh...is that why I have 4 of those? Only 4?? Yes, they are rare
  13. Absolutely love that book. Congrats! Very cool! Great Atom Bomb cover.
