  1. Finished my display case. shelf 1: Power Man and Iron Fist 78 was my first comic book. Kingdom Come is my favorite mini series. The 80’s Avengers got me started as a collector. Uncanny X-men 268 is my favorite issue shelf 2 and 3 are dedicated to the original 7 at Image. shelf 4: currently in rotation are the hot Kang books. shelf 5: currently rotating cool covers
  2. I sent in my first SS book a week ago. How long do these usually take to show up in the system?
  3. Good eye. Yes, it's signed by Jim. He released the poster at SDCC and took time to sign them. I'd love to get the other two signed, but that's probably being greedy.
  4. Added these to my display case. Power Man and Iron Fist, the first comic that I ever bought. X-men 268, my all-time favorite. And the original “7” from Image.
  5. I just sent in a X-men 1 for Jim and Scott. Would've been my Uncanny X-men 268 but it was already at CGC.
  6. I hope so. I just got mine graded. I have 9.8’s of issues 1-13.
  7. I'm thinking of sending in my X-men #4 9.8 blue label. Do I need to send a window bag with it or will CGC provided a window bag?
  8. I sent in books last Thanksgiving. It took about 10 days for them to show up as received. I sent in books on June 9th, 30 days ago, and they're still not received. I'm not really complaining, but thought I'd share. I'm guessing I won't get these books back this year since it took 6 months for the previous batch.
  9. I'll have to give my X-men 11 a second look too.
  10. I really want them to sign my Uncanny X-men 268 but I literally sent that book in just days before CGC announced their SS event. They won't let me change the book to the event, so I'm stuck deciding if I should send a different book, or should I wait for Jim and Scott to come back to get my 268 signed. Anyone been around long enough to know how often Jim and Scott become available roughly? My book options here at home: Magneto or Wolverine of the X-men 1's (9.4-9.6 range) Justice League 1 (9.6-9.8) Fantastic Four 4 (9.6-9.8 - cool cover, not many graded) Uncanny X-men 256 (9.2-9.4 - just Jim Lee), and a X-men 4 I just got graded that came back a 9.8. I'm a little reluctant to send in the 9.8 X-men #4. If something happens to it or they give it a lower grade, then I actually lose money. I do have a second Uncanny X-men 268. It's a 8.5-9.2 newsstand edition. The one I sent in is a 9.4-9.8 direct edition. Anyway, first world problems. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
  11. I asked. They said no. 😬 Question. I have an Uncanny X-men 275 signed by Chris Claremont from SDCC. If I have Jim and Scott sign it, doesn’t it get a qualified label or a SS label with a note?
  12. Oh, snap! Jim Lee is signing! I’ve always wanted him to sign my X-men 268. CGC just received it. Will they let me get it signed?
  13. Just saw this thread, so I’m a few months late. Name is Curt. I started casually collecting in the 80’s. My first book was a newsstand edition of Power Man and Iron Fist #78. Bought it at 7/11 on my way to the airport. Became more of a collector in the late 80’s. I mainly followed artists back then. Last August I saw an article that said your comics might be valuable now. In there I saw New Mutants #98 and I said, “I have that book!” My copy was a dollar bin issue so it’s not in great shape. It just arrived at CGC, so I’ll find out in a few months what’s it’s rated. I’m hoping 5 to 6. The news got me excited about comics again and I’ve been collecting again. Here’s the batch that I just sent in, minus two FS Teen Titans 1’s and Cyberforce 1 that I didn’t photograph.
  14. 1345 ... if I didn’t miss scanning anything. Not a lot, but some decent ones to pass down to my son.
  15. No, I did not use the prescreen. I did some online research to see how people were getting points deducted and hoped I knew what I was doing after that. Really was hoping for a 10.0. 😆 There were 3 issues that really looked flawless: Pitt 1, Spawn 8 and Wildcats 3. I’m assuming I’ll never get a 10 if those didn’t. Here’s the rest of my hopeful 10’s.
  16. Thanks for the pointer. Definitely works better.
  17. My first batch was a gamble for a 10.0. The last of them came in yesterday. No 10.0’s. However, I did send in my X-men 4 too. I was hoping for a mid 9, but was pleasantly surprised to see it landed a 9.8 as well!
  18. Thanks. I’ll see if I can find it. I haven’t had a lot of luck with their search engine.
  19. I got it a few years after it came out. It came with a tear so that’s probably why it was in the bin. Not counting that, I’d say it’s around a 7.5. It’s finally worth enough to find out exactly. I saw an article last August saying “your comics might finally be worth something,” and I was like, I have that issue! That’s what led me here to CGC.
