  1. I invested in #6. It has an intro on the cover, "A Titan Emerges." This reminds me of X-men 282 and 266. Both are considered more important that 283 and the annual that Gambit shows up in. So I would (and did) put my money on #6.
  2. Joined the hype. Also got a Stegman edition on the way.
  3. Mailed books mid June of last year. They were "received" 2 months later and are still waiting to be pressed.
  4. I have an Uncanny X-men 221 that looks like a 8.5 to 9.0, but came back a 9.6. It's clearly not a 9.6. I also have 2 other issues that have zero defects, but came back 9.6. For the most part, their grading is good, but it is annoying that there is room for error with 9.0+. Those are the easiest to grade, in my opinion.
  5. I just sent in a CBCS book to CBCS for reholding and it took them all of 2 weeks to get it out the door and on its way back to me. Quick updates at every step. Good first impression. Their other time frames are long like CGC, but they seem on par with CGC or better in a couple of areas, so I don't understand why people look down on them. Like newton rings. It seems newton rings are not an issue for CBCS. Unless I keep my CGC slabs in a box, they always develop newton rings, with some taking up several inches of space.
  6. Here’s a few samples. Mainly trying to figure out how to use the brushes. It’s sort of strange drawing without the resistance that paper causes. I’m going to try versions influenced by Alex Ross and Bart Sears next.
  7. I sent my last batch in on 6/10 then they were "received" 8/13. I would not have sent in my books had I known it was going to take a year to get them back. Maybe even longer. Mine are still waiting to be pressed. Grading wait time is half a year, so it's looking more like this coming fall or winter.
  8. They created a frenzy and now they're trying to get people to send in less books. In a year or two, they'll be laying off workers because business will go back to normal.
  9. I did when I was younger. And I recently added this to my Dodge Durango.
  10. Maybe. Certainly can’t hurt to be a tougher grader. I have a few raw books that might be higher than I’m thinking, That said, I sent in some books last year and two came back as 9.6. I can’t find anything wrong with them, but these two have very noticeable handling marks. oh, well. They’re marked as 9.6 so they should hold that value.
  11. The other “upgrade”, 9.6 282 newsstand. My other is a 9.4 direct edition. Though this looks like a 9.4 to me. Is it just me or is CGC slipping lately?
  12. Thought it was time to upgrade before the X-men come to the MCU. Ordered this online. I gotta say though, this is the worst looking 9.6 I’ve ever seen. Only one front corner is still sharp and there are 5 or 6 small spine ticks on the front. If I was guessing the grade, I’d say it’s a 9.0 or 9.2. That said, I've got high hopes for a raw X-men 266 that I bought. I was thinking it's a 9.0 but it could come in higher.
  13. No. This is the only one. But it checks as a 9.8 on CGC verify. I'm real close to pulling the trigger because it's at a good price too.
  14. Interesting. This book was graded last year and the book is normal size, so I'm surprised to see the wedge/stabilizer.
  15. Are stabilizers a thing? It’s hard to see but i circled it. Looks almost like tape. I was informed CGC doesn’t do this in all slabs. I want to buy this issue, but this made me a little weary.
  16. Yup. Their times are so slow right now that I'm even skipping SS events. It took 7 months to get back my Jim Lee SS. That's too long.
  17. Books I’ve been waiting to get back from CGC. I saw the Brzrkr virgin is going for a decent price. 😃
  18. Ugh... I'm waiting on my June moderns, so I guess I can stop looking if you're still waiting. You could literally create another person in the time it takes to get these books back.
  19. So I got a good problem. I have a couple of friends that want to give me their comic books. Unfortunately, they're in different states. One has 3 short boxes worth and the other has 2. Is there a way to ship them without them getting destroyed in the process? My friend with the 3 boxes has a bunch of Uncanny X-men from the mid to late 80's. We're talking from 210 to 280's. I don't know what shape they're in, but there's definitely a 221, 244, and 266 in there. Any suggestions?
  20. Wildcats 1-13. From my first batch of CGC books (last year). I was trying for a 9.9 or 10.0, but no such luck. If I was going to get one, it would’ve been with these. A couple of them looked flawless. Won’t be expecting those anymore. 😆 Now, I’m hoping they’ll go up in value as they work their way into the DC universe.
