Nice books boys. WOW
Sean some of those spidey sketches are so nice it's mind boggling.
Im kinda partial 2 the heavy symbiote activity of Lilly as he has drawn a really strong wall crawler and I LOVE SYMBIOTE TENDRILS flying everywhere.
All the villain sketches were done well esp Finch and Romitas GG
Texeiras bone cross corpse is pretty sweet too.
Once again you've knocked it outta the park bro.
Very nice, and Im always happy 2 see more.

Not a Spidey book, but i think it still qualifies! Highest graded issue is a 9.6, but this is currently the highest SS label! Love it! Thanks to DWC!
for some reason all I see is a red X
It may be my playstation 3 acting up though.

I posted these in the Stan Lee Tribute thread, but I guess this thread needs some love too.
wow this thread needs all the ss spidey lovin it can get.
BEAUTIFUL BOOKS BRO!!!
Also as I sold my ASM#300 CGC 9.8 SS &SKETCHED by McFarlane I will be looking 2 pick up a copy of 300 in SS 9.8 although you probably aim 2 keep yours and ILL probably just crack a 9.8 for a Stan SS, I thought I would toss it out there incase you decide 2 sell as Im shooting for an almost impossible run of ASM 201 thru 300 all CGC 9.8 SS.

Just a couple books I sold back a year or 2 ago but something needs to be posted as this thread was about 3 or 4 pages back.
And I don't think after I got these back from CGC that I ever posted pics of them so here they are now.

Actually 2 different copies although they look the same. Not sure if I got the photo first off the ebay listing then got a different book or whether they were both mine. I went through 2 Frenz SS copies and a Stan Lee copy in the last 3 or 4 years so tough to remember.
[/img]
Thought I had more than that in photobucket but guess not. I do have a whack more but they are all findable via link somewhere back in this thread near the beginning.

Being born in May of 78 may be why this poster is a tad fuzzy in my memory.
Cool looking poster though.

Thanks my comic brother Lloyd.
Even if you don't have a book 2 contribute, please remember that by bidding on all auctions up, your still helping out our boy in another way.
Best regards,
Rich

Folks we have a forum member in pretty rough shape financially and there's an auction that will be taking place to support and help him get back on his feet. As I am able to contribute although getting rid of possibly my favourite book I own, I plan to help out and for those of you that want this book:
I'll be donating it to the fundraising auction, shipping will be on me folks so bid away to support a fellow forumite or just take a look at all the other auctions being listed tonight I believe.
Here's the thread to that fundraising and how to help out if interested:

I prequalified 16 potential cgc 9.6 and 9.8 books.
Of those 16 I gave 9 to 11 a potential 9.8 cgc status.
key word POTENTIAL
You never know if youve overlooked something or perhaps a cgc grader will pick up a few new notes. And god forbid, maybe you packaged your book like a dunce and its your fault.
Long story short shipping in the dead of winter here in Ontario Canada my 16 books turned up 8 ASM CGC 9.8s out of my predicted 9 or 11 of 16.
Even I am not perfect. I may not always be right, but I am never wrong.

Yes, I let this poor excuse for a TMNT collector/friend finagle this book out of my hands last night.
Joking aside, Steph has been after this for a while now (like I think about 30 seconds after I secured it - literally), and with the discovery of the other Golds recently, I can only hope that sometime down the line I can pick up another. I wasn't planning on ever selling it, but if I was going to, Steph would've been at the top of the list. I think he got lucky that I'm hungry for some new art
Which I suppose brings me to my next point where many have questioned why the sudden slab selloff. Couple with this Gold move, one might think something was wrong (personally) or that I was leaving the hobby. But fortunately neither is the case! All is well, thank God. I have simply decided to focus my energies and limited budget on my true passion- early Turtles art. Now of course, after all this, you probably have high expectation of what sort of art acquistion(s) I might make - well, let's hope I don't disappoint!
At THIS point... I am pretty much expecting the cover art to one of the first 4 issues.
Great expectations my boy Great Expectations

similar to Todds ASM 311 yes I like it.
I believe that was the very reference I used... and bought out of the $1 bin at the con.
Dang you and your infernal taunts of my current collecting habits!!!
You do know that being CGC 9.8'd they go up to at least $3.75USD per book don't you???!?!?
And after being remodeled into yellow label 9.8 with signatures maybe $5.35USD??
at least bro.....

not me, I hear the Dr carries a big rolled up newspaper with himJust to re-enforce what "Dark Knight" said, a while back when Steve Borock saw it, he said the Tec 27 would likely be a solid 9.6 while the Action 1 was likely a 9.4 (others have said 9.2 - 9.4) & of course this was not an official grade nor closely scruitinized.Would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when Steve was looking at them.
It's actually his undercopy of Action #1. He keeps it rolled up in his back pocket.

Nice books Bro,
As I just got this beauty in from fellow forumite Rich Henn, I thought I'd add it up to this thread as it's one he ll of a book!!!!!!!!
[/img]
DeMatteis has a terrible habit of scribbling his darn name over Spider-Man's head in almost every signing he does and I'm glad he did it in an almost ineligible ink with regards to this book. I've actually turned books down that he has signed as in certain ink he has in my opinion ruined the cover on alot of occasions unfortunately. Funny as he has nothing to do with the art but good at botching it.

LETS get serious....
this thread should not be buried 7 pages down.....
jeebus this thread section has become more popular than Comics General with regards 2 threads popping up on an ongoing basis and I 4 one sure spend 574% More time here than there in the last year.
Cmon fellows lets get some fresh CGC SS Spideys up here.
ILL add mine whenever Rubenstein gets around to my 13 ASM 9.8s and 2 sketches as well as a bunch of books I have planned 4 Lord Stanley {;¤{)

agreed and going forward I will.
I actually bought copies of superman batman numbers 8,9 & 10 as they looked so stunningly beautiful and different for over a year planning on perhaps getting them graded due 2 the far superior art in comparison to almost everything else out there but as quit comic collecting from early 2008 till late 2009 hence the lack of knowledge with regards to this brilliant artists untimely demise as when Im not collecting, I rarely frequent the boards leading to my ignorance in not only this situation, but also the end of CGC Signature witnesses which Sean pointed out 2 me.
I think I was more upset at myself 4 not knowing than any1 else being a fan of his art as well and Im sure the comic world missed out on so much more that the artistic genius had 2 offer but at the same time he left 1 heck of a heap of ultimate brilliance in what we call art to remember the legend by.
RIP Michael Turner
