  1. I know I had to relist a book this week that an ebayer (whom also happens to be a boardie) won and put off paying for a long time, and now doesn't respond to my emails ...so, I filed NPB and relisted...happens all the time

Your boys better beat the gamecocks by 7 for my $800 payout bro....

I like the way they've picked up the pace in the last few weeks so took them along with, OR - STAN - ABRN & SCAL!!!!

    GO GATORS!!!!! lol

  2. Chandler gettin er done!!!!

    Very nice book.

PM me if your ever in need 2 sell it and if I am in a good financial position at the time, I will talk about a potential deal as Im trying to get the whole 201 through 300 run in CGC SS 9.8.

thanks man! if i ever do decide to part with it i will contact you, im also waiting for my 300 to come back from sean and chris(NYComics)... i hope it stays in a 9.8 or better grade :wishluck:

I cracked a 238 & a 239 9.8, got them signed by hobbys creator - writer Roger Stern which came back yellow 9.8, but I sold em 2 years back with my other 30 or so ASM SS 9.8s. This time Im in it 4 the long haul.

Good luck on your 300 man!!!

i would have loved to of had a 238&239 SS :cloud9: what possessed you to part with those badboys?

    ASM300.jpgasm300850.jpg

From the Stan Lee Tribute. Also got a 9.8 Universal 300, but I thought best to leave it alone (best of both worlds)

rather than having me ask what other goodies do you have?... it's easier for me to ask what don't you have?

Truer words haven't been spoken. I sold every book I owned so every book at this link and many more are books I had but DONT HAVE as the question was asked.

I fell upon hard times cash wise and am utterly broken as the 9.9s were my babies.

    :frustrated:

    linky...........

    ..............................

Now on the flip side, I got back into collecting slabs at the end of 2009 so for approx a year now and since then this is what I have going....

Keep in mind ILL leave the grade as blank because every book was a universal blue label CGC 9.8 that I had cracked out of it's shell to be signed by a spiderman creator then resent into CGC for regrading and to be donned in their new yellow tuxedos. lol

ILL quote this post and fill in the grades when I get them as well as add the scans in. There will be 30 in total!!!!!!!

  4. Maybe find an old label ASM CGC 9.4 that could be pressed into a CGC 9.6.

Offer full disclosure on the sale as most people don't care anyway but like having a books known history and right about 4 to 6 weeks before the spider-man movie reboot comes out, I would eject that ASM#6 CGC 9.6 for BIG MONEY!!!!! lol

And use that to start my GA collection of low to mid grade MMC & Torch books.

This instead of having to worry about a $12K Book turning into a $90 book in the mail when some underpaid delivery guy decides 2 throw my package with some force against the back of the mail truck & SCS occurs but 2 each their own...

  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360308281067&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:1123&autorefresh=true

OA isn't for everyone, but wonder what the guy who paid $12K for the 9.9 would buy if he had it to do over again. The highest graded copy (of which there are now 3, I believe?) or a truly one-of-kind collectible (at 1/3 the price).

Yeah, modern prices are so screwy...OA would have been much better.

12K I would drown on a 9.4 ASM#6 and take the remains and buy beer. lol

  6. Agreed on the loon facter 100%

I prescreened 14 books to be at either 9.8 or 9.6 out of 150 ASM books that I kept all in supreme condition. I would cherry pick from the stores pile of books the absolute best copy ...... then show the retail clerk the price, not allowing them to touch the book.

After seeing them crunch corners with their oafish hands time and time again I started at first switching the clerk scrunched copy 4 the best copy left on the shelf then after awhile just refused 2 let them touch my spideys at all.

Long story short that was my first and only raw book submission.

9 came back in CGC 9.8

5 came back in CGC 9.6

    All with white pages.

If the book lays flat, has sharp corners and edges, no color breaking creases or tears & very nice centering it could quite possibly return a cgc 9.8. Basically if it looks like a 10.0 to you, it may return a 9.8 or 9.6.

I guess it takes alot of time being around raw books and trying 2 keep them in pristine shape.

Welcome to the boards my friend, as you may not have seen that abbrv in past.

A looney toon started this thread and it got reignited as he posted something else utterly ridiculous in a 120 page thread to draw attention to himself and some forum member linked this thread asking us if we wanted to read any other words from this characters mind. lol

I agree with you in a large part that paying 15 or 20usd to give your book almost impenatrable defense alone is worth slabbing said book.

2 more pluses are the improved resale value on said book, as you will not often have a person on ebay argue the grade once it's slabbed.

Lastly the books look awesome on display side by side in slabs.

Again WTTB & good luck in your collecting friend!!!!!

Doc those 6.5s and 7.0s are'nt in your collecting focus,I can take those away for you.I mean you would'nt want those around your 9.8s,would ya. ;)

Valid point. It could be catchy and you may not have any 9.8s within a year or so.

ILL take a few of the diseased books off of your hands also to ensure the 9.8s are not infected.

  9. These are the only two SS books in my collection.

Posted the civil war only because he's on the cover lol.

Anything with spidey on the cover is fine as long as it's CGC SS.

That Turner Cover is a masterpiece indeed.

Did I sell you that ASM#400-CGC-9.8 SS

I had the same book / same sigs a few years back but sold it here I believe but could have been ebay, and believe we have done business in past.

    Best,

    Rich

He signed my X-men 14 as well but it only came back as a 6.0. was bummed about that. but its still nice.

I would be super pumped having any 12 cent xbook or asm signed by Stanley in VF or better.

When I had my raw xmen collection, that's the earliest book I owned and mine was about a 3.5 lol

My majority started from issue 110 through 400 full run. ILL always remember my beat up 1st Unus though. lol

  12. Nice books boys. WOW

Sean some of those spidey sketches are so nice it's mind boggling.

Im kinda partial 2 the heavy symbiote activity of Lilly as he has drawn a really strong wall crawler and I LOVE SYMBIOTE TENDRILS flying everywhere.

All the villain sketches were done well esp Finch and Romitas GG

Texeiras bone cross corpse is pretty sweet too.

Once again you've knocked it outta the park bro.

Very nice, and Im always happy 2 see more.
