  1. No, that is not how the competition works: that score on Spawn 1 would have lost 13 points. That book was one of my bulls-eyes
  2. FWIW MCS has one they grade as 4 (meaning it should be 5+) for $40
  3. As others have said the spine split takes it down below 4.
  4. It looks like a water stain on the BC which usually means a 1 grade deduction, so I also think 4 to 4.5
  5. ST had the advantage over MT in having Berni Wrightson as the artist.
  6. IMHO no. It's in the 2-3 range. Only about 6 sub-3 books in the census indicating that most owners think they won't get their grading fees back from the sale. Anyone interested in buying it would be able to assess the grade for themselves.
  7. Agreed. The grader's notes mentioned a date stamp. I didn't know that this was deprecated.
  8. FWIW, MCS has a copy they graded at 6.0 (which translates to at least 7) for $170
  9. It's a short way of saying "Me too". As in add my vote to this list.
  10. 4 to 4.5 also Question: is that the first double-page spread in comics? Even though the artist did not make the most of the extra real estate ;-) I am guessing someone will come up with an earlier example, but 1960 is pretty early.
  11. I also thought 8 but if this mark is a crease/scratch it would take it down.
  12. I'm usually one of the most lenient here, but with that torn cover (?and is it stained or a trick of lighting?) I would say 1.8; without the chunk missing, 3.5
  13. I buy from "US-only" threads and use a US trans-shipping company to combine packages and ship them on to me in Australia. Overall it is cheaper than using USPS and MUCH MUCH quicker.
