  1. Stuff like that is trash. Shouldn't even be worth the grading fees.
  2. There's an almost unlimited amount of base set commons like that as well. Not even the three starters that would actually sell. We're talking Pidgy, and other flat out nonsense cards in the thousands if not tens of thousands. Beyond stupid. Then they have a BIN of like $50. God help me, I want to rage every time I see one.
  3. I get what you're saying but it's not very cost-effective if you have that few cards you could use standard because you really aren't saving much money. Otherwise you could grade twice as many for the same price and the same time frame.
  4. Not sure about others, but I would've been content with a credit for the Dec submission so I could get some of these other cards moving through and then they bill me once they're done. Having finite resources tied up at three grading companies getting kind of rough. Stretched myself too thin, but also didn't expect it to get to the point it has. Now I have my own backlog of cards on my desk.
  5. If it was incoming bulk orders that were the issue it wouldn't affect the previous orders. Pretty sure it's due to standard and above coming in matching or exceeding throughput so theyre making very little progress on the current backlog and adding to it with new orders. Almost at 70 business days and sent in early Dec. Would have rather paid $1 more per card at the time of grading than have almost $500 tied up for so long. I could have sent quite a few standards through with that money in the meantime.
  6. I've thought of bumping mine up just to get them out of there but Econ is almost the same TAT as bulk for twice the price 😂
  7. Oh wow. I haven't sent any in since last month. Two and a half weeks and hasn't even been logged is brutal.
  8. The tiers are pretty up at the moment. 3 day gap between bulk and economy at double the price. Not much difference between standard and express other than price.
  9. At this point with only a 3 day difference with bulk I'm not sure why economy even exist.
  10. Got a no grade on a 1960 Mantle. Been sitting at the USPS sorting facility for 4 days so I haven't been able to look at it but it's weird. Same set as the Mantle/Boyer. When I enquired they said it couldn't be safely encapsulated. Didn't specify if it was too large or small. Weird to me as my late father had all of them in a shoebox since his childhood, and I know they weren't trimmed. Otherwise grades seemed about right. Guess I'll send the Mantle in elsewhere and see what they say. Came back in a deck box with an oversized label. Slightly too wide to fit in the holder 😒
  11. Not a route I'd go down. I'm just playing devils advocate here. Financially it probably wouldn't even make sense for someone to do it. Getting tired of seeing people blasted for feeling like they got shafted as much as reading about their shafting. Somehow every thread this week has turned into everyone ripping on each other for what they think. This particular line of thought came about because people kept telling him it's an estimate and he's wrong. He very well could be, but he may not be as well. Personally I don't have any skin in the game as it's not something I'm trying to do or interested in spending hours researching but if people want to mess on the guy for what he thinks doesn't necessarily mean they're right either.
  12. https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/rules/rulemaking-regulatory-reform-proceedings/mail-internet-or-telephone-order Like I said earlier I don't know about one as Im not a lawyer, nor do I know laws regarding business. There's an example of the one as it applies to goods. Once more, it's not unreasonable to assume there's one for services as well.
  13. Even with baseball sheet cut cards has been questionable for a long time.
  14. It should have been killed off as soon as it was posted. Every thread this week has been the same mess or the same questions multiple times.
  15. Not sure where you're going with that. They probably do, but you'd be surprised some of the things that consumer laws have let people sue over.
  16. I'm not sure about services, but there are laws in regards to goods and the amount of time you have to provide the customer with them from receipt of payment. Wouldn't be unreasonable to imagine there is something regarding services as well.
  17. I'm sure it will help a lot I just feel like this is one of those situations where an ounce of prevention was worth a pound of cure
  18. As it stands not charging until grading they aren't getting paid for work they aren't doing anyways. It's always worked fine for me now it may not scale exactly the same onto a business of this size without having to go far more in-depth obviously. But I could see them cutting out bulk and limiting submissions so that you're completing orders from 10 people at 20 cards instead of one guy at 200 and forcing everybody else to wait and having a bunch of livid customers who have outstanding orders for 8 months. At least in my line of work very rarely does keeping one person with big jobs happy exceed the money that I make from smaller jobs with multiple people
