It all depends on how different it is and how much it is. I first ran across it quite early in my collecting career in an issue of Supreme by Jim Starlin CAF Link I don't have a scan of the published page handy but the building had more ornate decorations and the sky more space/cosmic stuff so I barely noticed it and it didn't bother me. Another issue is modern artist who still have original art, but it's purely line art and no shadows, which I know annoys you. Examples include Kaare Andrews and Josh Middleton. example cover 1 from Spiderman: Reign example cover 2 from Spiderman: Reign I still got them as they are the OA to a comic I enjoyed, but the price I was willing to pay was lower. yeah, I think I agree with that logic. That does mean that you are counting on people with money burning in their pocket and buys the best available even though they would not buy it normally. Kinda like when you are at a con and you don't truly like any of the artist but because you are there you still try to get a sketch from the best person there Malvin

We seem to start one for each auction, so I might as well start one for this one. My first observation is wow, a day after the featured auction ended the focused one start, was it always like that or are there just more OA auctions now? My second one is that there were a couple of items that I thought should have ben in the featured auction (e.g. Ron Lim Silver Surfer Galactus pages). Maybe it's based on timing of when they got the art and how soon the consignor wants the money. Regards, Malvin

The McFarlane Wolverine back cover has been around the block a few times and it is finishing on Clink tonight. If I hadn't spent so much on art recently I would strongly consider taking a run. Then again, when this happens you wonder why it gets passed around like a hot potato. Malvin

heh, thanks all for the thoughts. Normally I would say thanks for the kind words but that doesn't seem to be the case here It's certainly not my first choice for a Bolland Dredd Cover (or 2nd.. or 3rd... etc) but as Gene said, it represents his artistry well so that's something! I must say now that I own it, the charm is growing on me (hopefully it's not mold) Malvin

This is to issue 30 and it is undoubtedly the 30th best Bolland Dredd Cover from the first 30 issues of Eagle's Dredd (and Bolland didn't do all the covers!) Not sure if it ranks any higher though...
