If I posted my recent results of cracking CGC slabs and sending to a competitor for better grades it would be the Poke-topic of the day in the community and I'd probably get a call from someone at CGC.

Look... not everything is a CGC 8.5 guys. Let me say that again: NOT EVERYTHING IS A CGC 8.5.

When I can crack multiple CGC 8.5 slabs and literally get 10's at other reputable grading companies (not one of these new amateur-hour startups, I'm talking one of the long-standing pillars in the community) maybe it's time to look into things in the grading room.

My recent Bulk return had 6 straight holos from 2004 (FRLG - Pokemon) that all got the SAME EXACT SUBGRADES and of course got CGC 8.5, surprise surprise. The odds of that happening organically are basically 0 from a probability standpoint. This is the stuff I'm talking about.

Definitely doesn't seem right at all. Like you said, maybe they need to look into things in that grading room. There is no way 6 straight cards all have the same subgrades. Looks like they copy and pasted everything down the line. I can't wait to get my cards back so I can be done with all this BS.

anyone here submit a reholder recently?  TAT is supposed to be 10 days.  They recieved mine 8/30 and has been sitting in Scheduled for Grading for months.  Just curious if anyone else is in the same boat.

I would definitely be calling them in regards to this. It's been 3.5 months since they received it with a TAT of 10 days somethings not right. Good luck

Small Update on Mechanical error submission for future reference. Seems these actually are pretty quick.

    Mechanical Error Submission: 1 slab
Submitted at CGC's booth at MTG Convention: 11/20/21
    Received: 12/1/21
    Status: Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging

Everytime i had to do this it only took roughly 2 - 3 week turnaround.

Hey I just have a quick question. I have 2 submissions that were just charged to my credit card and I have 2 older submissions from 2 months earlier that have yet to be charged?

Is anyone else having this happen? Just curious on why this may be happening out of order. All submissions were at same service level.

I would call them and ask what's going on. Seems strange to me.

This is a joke. I will say I am a fan of CGC and if any of you folks work at a tech company or know someone that does - this “project” literally is something that could be banged out within a reasonable timeframe (six months to design and code a couple others to test). You don’t use graders to code, you use them to assist in the design/build and testing of the solution. You don’t have the resources internally? You outsource it to the bajillion consulting firms out there. From launch of the trading card service to now I would say is a enough time to do this twice over. Say what you want about PSA and their shenanigans, but CGC has been the worst with customer service. I mean bottom feeders like HGA have a pop tool and will answer literally every question you throw out at them at a fraction of the resources CGC has. CGC - get your act together!

They already have a POP report for comics. So why can't they just use that for TCGs? It's been well over a year now since they started grading cards. They gotta have a internal pop report. So why not have a public pop report? Seems like to me employees are controlling the CGC 10 market by doing this. Yes they say they have rules in place for stuff like this but who says it not just a front?

We can't even get an answer too if centering is graded by machine or human. A lot of stuff CGC is hiding from us...

So my cards were shipped out on the 7th.  They got to Tampa 72 hours ago and haven't been updated since.... is this a common occurrence? I never had priority registered @GhostyToasty@GhostyT

It's December and USPS is crazy right now. I've shipped 5 packages at the beginning of last week and all 5 didn't show up in tracking until they were in the town/city I was shipping too... I wouldn't worry to much.

hey Paul! I saw on another thread you said you were hoping to have YuGiOh open for submissions by the end of the year. I was wondering if that was still the plan. I only ask because my membership is over here in a couple months and I was really hoping to get a bunch of YuGiOh sent while i still had my grandfathered in discount on submissions.

    Thanks again.

    https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/9679/new-games-graded/

CGC just posted this today stating they are starting to accept tcg from Digimon, dragon ball super, final fantasy and more. At the end of the article they say they are having issues getting the slabs needed to grade yugioh cards at this time and that's what is holding them back from opening submissions for yugioh.

They are willing to start grading other TCGs but cant supply a population report yet for Pokemon.... makes sense I guess

Here is a question for you all:  How many of you have the willpower to not look at your grades until they arrive in your hands?  I want to be surprised when they come in, but not sure if I will be able to. Any advice?

you'll end up looking at them like all of us do lol. Regardless if you do or not, you're gonna get surprised both ways. I did anyway.

I had my first order returned 2 days ago, I went into my submission to look at the scans and I see they have all been deleted. Anyway at this point to gain access to the scan?

You have to look up each card separately using the cert # look up tool. Just copy and paste the submission # and add 001 to the end of it to look them up. 001 - (however many slabs you got)

The last 3 numbers is the line number for the slab.

The time frame on sending them to get fixed has been told to me to be 24 business days so I wouldn't get them back till January which is completely unacceptable and then what? They send them back in the same unacceptable holders to get damaged again? I want a partial or full refund. I'll take my business elsewhere. I'm done with CGC's garbage.

I totally agree with you but they won't give any refunds. They have made that clear. I wish they'd give us an option to return our card without being graded. It's hard to trust CGC with stuff like this. It's been going on for months with no fix, let along no pop report... after I get my last submission back, I'm done grading cards. This has been a bad experience for just about everyone....

    Good luck

CGC is still doing this. 50 of my 54 slabs have scuffs and scratches. Called them and its absolutely unfn acceptable. Charles McGregor the shipping manager is a complete tool trying to save a few dollars costing his company and its members 100s of dollars. Fire that man.

This is very concerning and nothing is being done to fix the problem. The "white coating" on the new inserts did nothing to fix the problem.

I really hope you send them all back to be fixed. Don't waste your time trying to clean them.
