The threshold has and always been is you make a $1.00 Profit you are supposed to report it on your taxes.
BTW I hate big govt. Jut stating the rules of USA tax life.
I cut my grandmothers grass when I was a kid. Yes they want their cut
Where is that rule though? I'm not educated in tax law AT ALL. I just hear the conspiracy is there is no law stating this. IDK. I'm just wonder why nobody can ever show this proof. Like it's just "been this way forever". But why do I hear people who can afford the court fees and have the patience end up winning these lawsuits? It's the fear of being couped up in jail waiting 15 years for your case to finalize is the scare tactic as well I'd think. Maybe I should Google this. I'm just asking you because I'm reading through this depressing topic. LOL.

Very true. I know they had to pay a healthy fine to the DEA for allowing pill presses to be sold, so yeah, not surprising.
You don't want to arrest the crook BEFORE he commits the crime. Let the seller sell this fake chit and then throw the book at him.

Of course Ebay would say it doesn't violate their policy...they make money off fraudulent items as well as contraband, so why would they care,,they are incredibly corrupt
They'd also rather go through the sale and deal with the eventual claim and refund just so they can have your money for a little while.

Please send the 15.000 books to CGC for 9.9 prescreen first before you sell.

Chad has reached out to me via PM, apologized and made a nice donation to the Hero Initiative. From my perspective I consider the transaction resolved. Obviously, others are free to retain their own opinion.
I'm glad you two talked and it's resolved. My opinion is that he should not be allowed to sell here again. He has eBay and obviously is okay selling elsewhere. It's the disregard for the rules here that should get him banned. He should have never had the item listed on both venues in the first place. The end. Tired of hearing people's pity party "I needed quick money." That's fine. Then stay on top of your chit.

How much was the donation? Did he give until it hurt and then give some more?

I remember the print ads back in the day where he had a seemingly endless supply of Comico Primer # 2.
I remember obtaining my first copies of Primer 2 and Grendel 1-3 from Joe Koch. Been my favorite comics ever since.

The problem is, our Senior Site Reliability Engineer is no longer employed with the company. I am hoping a replacement will be found.
I hope he wasn't swapping books. Yikes.

For the record, my last pending submission with CGC has been shipped today. At this time I am taking a pause from submitting anything else. Not necessarily because of this issue, but because I don't feel like I have anything I want to submit right now. HOWEVER, I will note that the last few submissions I received AFTER this thing started came back really nice. I'm talking 4 submissions throughout February to today consisting of 26 comics and 2 magazines came back amazing. Cases were sharp and tight. Plus the high rez scans and tons of graders notes on everything below 9.4. That's my sample size and contribution to the data pool.

You may get more help in the copper thread. Some people who frequent there may not check over here as much. I did dig through a collection of obscure 80s books and no luck. I’ll keep an eye out, though.
Thanks! Maybe I try that. I was wondering if I should post in the Want to Buy section since I do want to obtain a copy if it does exist... which at this point I believe there are a few issues floating around.

Maybe some dumb scammer swapped a higher grade book.

I picked up a copy of the first issue recently so I could put it next to my ASM 134 and giggle. When I was younger I would get the two "confused". Lol.
I also just picked up 78-83 as I wanted to fill in some early Punisher appearances. I passed on issue 80 though because I read that was a filler issue or something.

grendel013, I had no idea that was a process that could be done. Thank you for sharing, I will use that method! And was already thinking of purchasing a signed Opena, then traveling down the path for Remender. I am assuming Remender is easier to track down.
man, thanks a lot!
You are quite welcome.
It can be a be a bit tedious but many of the boardies here use this approach I'm sure. I myself work with data for my profession so I use those skills in my hobby.

Yes, that comic is cool. However, I am trying to figure out what your post is saying. Is this comic available for sale somewhere? Do you own this comic?
I have specifically wondered if I should purchase a 9.8 signed by Jerome Opena, then somehow get it signed by Rick Remender and re-graded. I have zero, absolutely zero experience in doing this. But everything is figureoutable and I don't mind trying!
I actually went on the CGC registry and searched through the Seven to Eternity set. I went through every member who has a registered set and checked out everyone who had a graded 9.8 copy of issue 1A. I then took the cert number and looked that up on the census to get the details.
Probably about 5 or 6 members had an autographed copy with just Opena's signature. This member happened to have this particular copy from Opera's personal collection. Nobody had a double signed issue or even one just signed by Remender.
I don't know off hand if that member/owner is also on these boards but it is possible to contact them through the registry. But I was thinking along those lines. If you can't find a double signed 9.8 maybe get a signed Opena copy and then hunt down Remender for a sig.

Maybe the owner of that LCS had OCD.

My intent is to purchase Seven to Eternity #1A, first print, 9.8, CGCs, signed by Rick Remender and Jerome Opena
On 2/26/2024 at 12:09 PM, thehumantorch said:I'm guessing a copy signed by Remender and Opena is a pretty rare item. Good luck on the quest.
It looks like there are currently 105 CGC 9.8 copies of this book that are all signature series. How many are double signed by writer and artist is unknown but I'd think at least half?
Anyway, good luck @Kortoga and welcome to the boards!! WHEN (I won't say IF) you find a copy, please let us know and post a pic!
