  1. I made an image a while ago, showing the differences in the size and shape of Daredevil #1s. They can vary wildly.
  2. Yeah, it's automated. Unless you opt out, if you have books you've bought from Heritage over a certain dollar value, they end up showing as "taking offers" and the default offer is not reflective of the actual cost to move the book.
  3. To be fair, there are some other books they could have sprung on us to get me interested, but unrestored Action #1s and unrestored Detective 27s are guaranteed to get me interested.

  5. To that point- I've RARELY written about Hake's and here I am posting about them here and on my blog, because of this Tec 27.
  6. I wonder what sort of deal they're getting. If Hake's is serious about jumping up to the next level, then they might be aggressive with their deals on books like this. Either that or the consignor also has other stuff and Hake's is a one-stop-shop.
  7. It's a whole new level for Hakes with this auction. It's an interesting step up.
  8. AUCTION #223 ONLINE FEBRUARY 20TH BIDDING ENDS MARCH 13TH-15TH
  9. No, the listing isn't up yet. They had an article in scoop and I reached out to them for the scan you see above.
  10. I'm really interested in the collection and in seeing how this book in particular does at Hake's. I imagine it will do well, because it's a fresh looking copy, but it's a new venue for a book like this.
  11. It does, but who knows if it's just the scan. I will say the handwriting certainly pops! That's like a $50,000 scribble.
  12. I'd think so, but weird things have happened with this stuff before. $1,000,000 is still a big number.
  13. I've wanted a 9.8 copy of this book for a while. I put in a "win at all costs" bid just to save me another two year or whatever of waiting to see one for sale. I'll take it for $60!
  14. The Rockford copy is a million dollar book now, I think. It previously sold for $115,000
