  1. Thanks Steve. I have the Howard the Duck #13 at NM+, the Star Wars #1 at NM-/NM and both Heavy Metals at 9.0/9.2. I think both mags would improve with a press. (thumbs u
  2. Good scores! What price did you get them for? $75.00 for all 4
  3. Very nice! Did you get a good deal? 20 bucks each. (thumbs u
  4. Craigslist buys earlier today.... Howard the Duck #13 (1st full Kiss appearance): Star Wars #1: Heavy Metal #1 and #2:

  7. 9.8 pre-screen You have to send in 50 books for that service...don't you? That's what the website says anyway.
  8. Did you have them pressed? No, but the next time I send any in they're gonna go to Joey first.
  9. I sent in 4 copies of Starslayer #3 (2nd Rocketeer) with the hopes of getting at least one 9.8 out of the deal. Unfortunately, I didn't even get a frigging 9.6. I have three 9.4s and one 9.2 coming back. Oh well. If anybody is interested in one of these at $30 each let me know via PM. I'll sell the 9.4s and keep the 9.2 since I still have a bunch of raw copies.
  10. Just received a good deal on a couple of sweet Marvel slabs from Ghost Town. Barton is the best!
  11. Any of these? http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3908989&fpart=1 http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=23&Number=2916521&Searchpage=2&Main=149598&Words=whitman&topic=0&Search=true#Post2916521 http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2569191&fpart=1 http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=150569&fpart=1 http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=770636&fpart=1 The 4th link is a good one. It deals almost entirely with the DC Whitmans. (thumbs u The other 4 links mainly discuss Marvel Whitmans or Whitman pre-packs.
  12. I also tend to believe that all 3 scenarios - the DC Whitmans, the Marvel Whitmans and the Gold Key Whitmans - were variants and not reprints. Does anyone know if anyone ever contacted someone at Whitman Publishing to verify any of this one way or the other?
  13. So you're the one hoarding all these books?!
  14. Unless I'm totally blind and can't search properly, I have been unable to find a thread dedicated to the Whitman DC Variants from the late '70s. I know there's a Whitman Variant thread but it's pretty much dedicated to the Gold Key Whitman Variants from the early to mid '80s. So here's a new thread to discuss and post your Whitman DC Variants. (thumbs u I'll start things out by posting a link to the Whitman DC Variant checklist: Whitman DC Variant Checklist and scans of the Whitman DC Variants I've managed to pick up over the last 10 years:
  15. Just found this thread. Here are the Omahas I've managed to pick up in the last 2-3 years:
  16. I do have a very sharp Alter Ego #21 that I should probably send in.
  17. That would be great. I have a Spectacular Spider-Man #2 CGC 9.6 with a cracked case and an old label and I much prefer the new label. The insufficiently_thoughtful_person I bought if from on eBay last month shipped it to me in a bubble mailer with no other protection. What do you mean, no other protection? It was in the holder wasn't it?? That's the holder's job.
