  1. One of my favorite BA Horror covers. Yep, and still one of the remaining for my HOM CGC set. I'll probably end up sending it to joeypost for a press and on to CGC for grading. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't come back at least 9.4.
  2. I have a raw copy in about 9.0. Maybe I need to send it in.
  3. Even though I'm a big Marvel collector, I've been missing my one and only copy of HOM #205 since I sold it here on the boards last year. Here's my new copy that I received in the mail today. The damned scanner puts those yellow lines in there but this copy is SWEET.
  4. A CGC 9.2 just sold for $78 earlier this month. The last sale of a CGC 9.4 was in May 2009 for $410.
  5. I've posted the link before, but it's a cool site with good info: Median Comic Book Cover Prices by Year Even better!
  6. (thumbs u I knew there were a bunch of price increases in the 70's (and a bunch more ever since).
  7. I'm only interested seeing a timeline of the increase in cover prices, not values.
  8. Has anyone ever seen a post or created a list themselves showing the price increases of comic books by year? It would be nice to see a timeline by year of the increase in the cover price of comics.
  9. Wow. Just wow. And I thought I was old!
  10. Ghost Town - just curious as to whether you submit your own books, buy them already CGC graded or is it a combination of both?
  11. Just bought ASM #51 and #54 slabs from Steve in his latest sales thread. Great deal and the books arrived quickly from the Great White North. Thanks again Steve! (thumbs u
  12. Don't feel bad. It's a learning process for all of us. Even the absolute best graders and the graders at CGC had to start somewhere. I know a hell of a lot more about grading than I did 5 years ago and that's mostly due to prior CGC submissions and my participation on these boards. There are a lot of slabbed books posted on here. Take a close look at each one and zoom in when you can. Look at the given grade and see if you can find any visible flaws. That being said, I still get books back from CGC that look absolutely pristine, come back with 9.0 and 9.2 grades and I'm sitting there thinking "WTF?".
  13. Let's get everybody in here to chip in a dollar and we'll keep it at CGC headquarters. Do we have 40,000 people in here?
  14. That's one of my favorite ASM covers. Gorgeous book!
  15. The max size CGC will slab is 8 1/2" x 11" I suppose they will as long as it's not too big for the slab. CGC should be able to slab the Back Issues. My raw copy is only 7" x 8-1/2". And CGC does go slightly higher than the 8-1/2" x 11". They slab the Large Feature Comics (see GPA). I have a raw copy of the #1 issue (Dick Tracy Meets the Blank) and it is 8-1/2" x 11-1/2".
  16. Just sold a couple of Dave Stevens cover slabs to Bruce. Great guy to work with - nice easy transaction. A+ all the way. (thumbs u
  17. Could be, Seller had it listed as F to VF. So I figured I would be lucky to get a VF copy. Except for that ULC it looks like a really sweet copy. Forgive my new-ness, but what is a ULC ? By the way thanks for the FF #48 Shark, it arrived today in great shape. ULC = upper left corner And you're welcome.
  18. Could be, Seller had it listed as F to VF. So I figured I would be lucky to get a VF copy. Except for that ULC it looks like a really sweet copy.
  19. Just sold a Captain Marvel #1 CGC 8.5 to Mike and the transaction went very smoothly. Great guy to work with. (thumbs u
  20. Well done. One of the hardest books to find. IMHO What's a good price to pay for one of these? There's one on eBay right now but it's $95.00 BIN. I've never owned one.
  21. All 4 Signature Series? But of course! All white pages too. All but the 9.8 have perfect centering, but I dig the page quality on these bronze books myself. Centering only becomes an issue for me when it's an ugly back cover wrap sneaking around to the front. Send me a PM if you're interested in selling a 9.6 or the 9.4. (thumbs u
