  1. When I was at school I had a couple of comic buddies but now as an adult I’m very much a lone wolf when it comes to collecting. Trips to any comic bookstore or convention is always alone and apart from here I’ve nobody to share ( bore) about my latest find ! My wife is seriously not Interested also ! curious to know if I’m in the minority or majority of lonely collectors or do most have a companion to share it all with ??!!
  2. Amazing. like it’s just been took off the shelf back in 1966
  3. Looks great. is that the price $375 ? I’d pay that in a heartbeat if I could
  4. Great run, unfortunate / unlucky there’s not a 9.8 in there
  5. Thanks and yeah I love it how it’s personally addressed to me
  6. My SS 1 which I bought many many years ago for £5 / $7. I had Stan personally sign it for me on a promo trip here in the UK 30 years ago exactly. I vividly remember meeting him and his opening line of “Geez the first Silver Surfer, you take care of her kid” I’m really not bothered if it’s value gas decreased due to the signing of it. It’s easily my most sentimental book
  7. Yeah I just want the book. The tear on spine isn’t ideal but it has tatooz and it’s not going to break the bank. thanks
  8. Thinking of buying this book but just a quick question. the copy for sale has the tatooz but also a 1 inch vertical tear on the spine. from a grading perspective. Is it best to have no tears and no tattooz or the tattooz with a tear. for context it’s a raw copy for sale at 115 bucks
  9. Oh yes, if you don’t adopt full voice over and ‘get into character’ then you’re really not doing it right !!
  10. Today, as a random example, I’ve.. had a flick through my ASM run read maximum carnage series let my little boy have a rummage through some of the collection Updated Collectionary app took delivery of 5 new books, read them and stored them away. loved every part of it
  11. Thanks. Reading them to my 5 year old boy is one of my life’s great pleasures. he loves the green goblin and venom. I read him ASM 300 recently though naturally I wouldn’t let his hands anywhere near it !! ive give him a bunch of spectacular Spider-Man so he now has his own little collection and he loves them
  12. That’s pretty much me, record on and comics out. Bliss.
  13. I go through mine daily. Rearranging, pulling out issues to read myself, read to the kids etc. Do some have theirs locked away for investment ? Do you maybe get out weekly ? curious to see how much interaction people have
  14. I’m saying 9.6 looks like a tiny bit of blunting at top right corner. Very very small but may be enough to stop the 9.8. Amazing book and my favourite Mcfarlane cover. Better condition than mine also !
  15. My entire collection is foreign. all from that that far off land the good ol’ U S of A !!!
  16. Do we think this trend in newstands will filter down the grades ? my newsstand copy is around a 7 so technically do we think this is worth more than a direct 7 ??
  17. I honestly would have said 8. such a great looking book and I thought the 7s being said were a bit harsh great news for you. Enjoy
  18. No Keep them and read them. As the artist and writer intended. apply the same to every other book.
  19. Few spine tics which is fairly common in ASM 300. I think you’re looking at maybe 8-8.5
  20. I’m in the market for a raw one but prices on eBay have been crazy this week. I was watching one on eBay recently that jumped from £100 up to £200 / $285 in last 5 seconds.
