When it comes to vintage paper collectibles that you’re company is founded on preserving, the percentage needs to be very close to zero. It’s not just any business.
True. I’m not saying I’m not shocked and a bit discouraged by many of the mistakes that have slipped past QC. I am.

That is a lot of X-force #11
And I realize in looking at my little spreadsheet inventory that I don't have a single copy. I feel a tickle of FOMO at the back of my brain. Ha ha.

I was quoting the guy who made percentage the focus. Surely you grasp that.
C'mon genius.
Have a lot of people received bad product from CGC...Yes or no?
Hint: the answer is yes.
Such is the case with any business. All that matters is the percentage.

Why would you even reply if you don't care?
When I say "who I am" I do not mean my professional status, social status, status in the comic book world etc. Those who know me here get it. It means I can be relentless when challenged, do not quit an argument, take pains tp prove my points, if I say I will do something then I will do it, and can in general be a pain the the tukkus.
Then less chitty-chat and more proof.

Yet another undocumented WOM anecdote. I can cite higher and lower returns. The differences are by NO means extreme. Returns on both reflect excellent ROI.
So you say…without documentation yourself. They certainly look extreme to me, and they look extreme enough to others to keep the competition in CGC’s shadow.

First, if you are going to try to look like some knowledgeable insider, at least learn to spell Steve's name correctly. To say they are not viable competition is totally without basis and totally with prejudice.
Second, if you are going to try to look like some knowledgeable insider, at least be cognizant that there are a ton of CGC "loyalists" who just follow, without any questioning, knowledgeable insiders as to the TPG of choice. Or many with a long history with CGC who do not want that boat rocked.
The level of disinformation and, even worse, the level of insinuation, with absolutely no factual backup, is almost as disgusting as reading the words "After signername signs the submitted books, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CCS pressing is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back to their owners." on the many emails I got about yet another signing. While my and many others' books lay ignored.
I've seen the ROI's with the competition. They're not viable.

I'm not being fooled. The percentage is of no interest to me.
A lot of people get bad product. We see it all the time.
"Don't let that thread fool you into thinking only a "tiny percent" of customers get bad product."
Seems that the percentage does indeed seem important to you. -

I second this.

Those are the books of people who participate on this forum. They are not the only people who get poor quality product from CGC.
In fact, I'd say most people who use CGC do not participate on the forum.
Don't let that thread fool you into thinking only a "tiny percent" of customers get bad product.
And don't let it fool you into thinking a large percent get bad product. None of us really know.

I told myself I would not FOMO this book. Then I bought a copy for $29 and chastised myself for being dumb because I figured I bought at the peak and it would be back to a $15-20 book this week. Maybe I got lucky - guess I'll hold it for a while and see if it continues to rise.
Got mine at cover price, but I feel a little weepy about not thinking ahead and pre-ordering the 1:25.

My Jim Lee, received 12/9. "Is"........ or has the shipping label printed 12/9, just made it to FedEx today the 7th Feb. That was a minute
Yeah, by "right back", I mean in comparison to the books of mine entered into the system back in June 2021 that haven't moved status-wise at all. Ha ha. I find, in regards to signing events, that it's been taking around four months from CGC receiving my books to when I get them back. I usually send them in right at the last minute, like a week before the due date. I also get them pressed.

I would think if a service representative couldn't tell you why you were banned, then they should reinstate you or at least do some investigating...but that would make sense and imply that eBay cares about its users.

Patient reds, that is a tomato of a fruitful redeeming quality. I'm just joshin, cause I'm a bit put off, as the books of mine are due in a bit.
Patience. Is. A. Virtue. And I'm adjusting and adjusting, its comforting to say the least that you obtained something back!
Oh, I have dozens of (unsigned) books in limbo myself. As someone jokingly pointed out on here, all you have to do is getting them signed. Boom. Right back. I have two more signing submissions coming back within the next week.

This prompted me to take a look at a couple of the less well-known grading services, just out of curiosity. Cripes. How hard is it to make a decent label? Even the best competition (that is well-known around here) has an eyesore for a label.

If the slabs can be opened then what’s to stop someone from putting a lower grade book in its place. Fools and their money. I don’t feel bad.
Yes. That aspect in particular makes zero sense.

Yes that is a horrible grade, but based on what we are seeing in the CGC QC thread can you honestly say CGC wouldn't have given it a 9.8 as well?
With 99% certainty, yeah. There are issues with CGC for sure. Probably more than there used to be. But I’m still convinced that they do their job well overall. I may be wearing my rose-colored glasses though.

Sold all my 9.8s
Made out like a bandit and people are suckers
Guess what, picked up 5 more raw 9.8s for practically pennies so I can do it again when people forget how stupid they are
Guessing that'll be around the time Marvel X-Men drop
If only X-Force #1 would do the same. I got a few of those still bagged sitting around that I got basically as freebies. Ha ha.
-
These are the books that really only have value in the 9.8 area. I submitted an X-Men #4 myself, which is the same deal. Even so, I don't see this going too high. Then again, I didn't expect a Spawn #1 to sell for as much as it has, so who knows.

Oof. No deslabbing for me. If I'm out of space, I MAKE space somehow.
Umm…where did my books go?

Yeah, check your dashboard. I still have stuff out there from June 2021 myself. I know @CGC Mike was looking into having that eight-month window for viewing extended, but I don't think I saw any update on that.
