Anyone else looking forward to this when it comes out?

Yup. Been trying to hold off grabbing an ashcan copy because I keep telling myself prices will go back down. It's been...difficult.

Ah, I think you're right - I think it was that 1:25 first print that goes for crazy $$. I ended up grabbing a couple of the 2nd print right before FOC for around $3 each; I'll probably just hold on to them awhile. Just was curious to see what other people thought about the potential for that one.

I grabbed one myself. I find myself grabbing more second, third, etc. prints these days anyway, just in case.

I visited the Clayton Crain personal website and I noticed that he has several of the same signed comic, but each labeled and priced differently, depending on the signature style:

Infinity Signature, Infinity Murder Signature, Classic Murder Signature, etc... it's actually kind of cool! Basically, it's just different pen colors and an artistic flair to the signing.

Is this a new collectible thing?

SS slabs don't yet notate the signature variants, but I wonder how long until collectors start asking for it?

After all, you pay a standard price for a basic Kevin Eastman signature, and you pay extra for the 'head sketch' doodle he puts on his merchandise at signing events. He advertises his head sketch as a bonus to his signature, which should make it 'more collectible', or worth more imo.

LMK what you think about it. Your 2c below.

It's more of a Crain thing. He's the only one I've seen that does this with signatures. The upcoming CGC signing event with him is placing his various types of signatures into different pricing tiers.

These Damn Kids #1 from last week also.

Second Sight put out a slew of one-shots last week. I wonder if any of the others will get a bump in value as well.

As for "These Damn Kids", there are web exclusive covers available at Second Sight's site:

    https://www.secondsightpublishing.com/store

I grabbed the virgin variant. The regular covers are sold out there.

Seeing more strength with HR 1, cgc 9.8 getting closer to $100 or a bit above.

The biggest gain is with HRA 2, lots of recent sales... $15 or so raw and upwards of $100 cgc 9.8. Perhaps aided by the lower supply of 9.8s compared to HR 1.

Haven't really watched the last two since this post, perhaps they are a bit flat (jabba and temple peak).

HRA 1 seems to be a gaining a bit more respect.

I'm so glad that my LCS didn't have the regular covers of HRA 2 when it came out, "forcing" me to buy the incentive variant.

People need to ask themselves what is the end result you're looking for in the spec game.  Is it a cameo in a movie, character growth in a comic based storyline, bedsheets and pajamas?

The vast majority of these first appearances will end up as nothing.  Even in the Marvel universe where everything is based upon possible MCU ties, why should anyone pay big money on a first appearance of a character that will only appear in 5 minutes and be killed off or forgotten immediately.

Star Wars is tricky because any characters used from the new material will have to be signed off on from multiple top dogs.  You would think they already have ideas in place for what and who they will use when the time comes.

In the Marvel universe, first appearances more often than not lead to nothing, but first appearances in the Star Wars universe, for some reason, seem to gain more traction. At least, it seems that way with the Star Wars books in my collection, both Dark Horse and Marvel.

My book was received on Jan 7th. I sent it in super early. Maybe they are going in order? They gave four options. Hopefully you get your email soon. If you are curious I can message you the email contents

Maybe so. I'll keep an eye out for it. They haven't fallen into my spam folder in the past, so if they send one, I'm sure I'll see it. Thanks!

I opted to have my New Teen Titans #2 that I sent in for the Perez signing to be graded universal per CGCs email. It was switched from in house signing to modern a couple days ago. It will be a nice Xmas present when I get it back in December (maybe)

Hmmm, I don't believe I received an email. I sent mine in already slabbed. I wonder if that's why. Still, I wish I had the option.
