  1. Heck yeah on the 65-104! (thumbs u I dunno, next I may have to focus on getting back into the BB #28 club again.
  2. You're well on the way to a great accomplishment! It's almost too bad CGC doesn't award points for completeness. It gauls me a little sometimes when someone with a handful of books has top (or very hight) status on the registry.
  3. Don't count me out, I'm not out of the race yet! The last 2 books I need for my 1-64 set are marked "Graded" on CGC's order status. I should have them before the weekend Then I decide do I want to tackle the 65-104 set.
  4. Congrads Sam! I was looking at that book wondering if you'd go for it and prevail. Glad you did (thumbs u
  5. Wow, Bob Joey, you guys have some gorgeous books! Acquiring any Marvel SA key, in any grade, is a matter of how fat your wallet is. It may be coming true for DC's as well, but it's difficult to even find key books. But it's also more satisfying when you finally land a grail.
  6. Yes it did (thumbs u From your finger-tips to gods twitter account Showcase has become the Rosetta Stone for TV concepts
  7. FWIW, I loved this season as well as last. Just enjoyed the heck out of them both, Flash & Arrow.
  8. I agree. I think BB28 will pass SC4. But will be interesting to watch. I, on the other hand, do not think BB28 will surpass SC4. It might close the gap between the two books in terms of value when the movie gets closer, but I think SC4 will be priced higher at the same time. SC4 has a few things going for it to make it the top SA DC book. First, it was the book that started the SA era. Second, it is the first appearance of a major superhero. Third, it is rare to find this book in any grade than BB28. These are some if not all the factors BB28 lack. It is like saying AV1 will surpass AF15, Hulk 1, TOS39, JIM83, etc. which I don't think it will also. Completely agree with this. Close maybe, but never more. That I believe is the proper use of the word never.
  9. You'd think with those super-fast metabolisms they wouldn't look like the before picture in a Jenny Craig commercial. LMAO....I'm no small guy myself and could easily miss a few meals, but I don't dress up like the Flash either.... Yeah, I myself would probably be closer to looking like the middle Flash on issue #115. Speaking of which, that'd be a fun story for them to tackle for an episode.
  10. That's a bit ridiculous Personally I don't touch reserve auctions as they are 99% of the time a waste. If you don't want to sell it for less than x start it at x Not to be contentious, that NEVER almost never worked for me. No one on eBay seems ready to pay FMV for anything. I don't understand why it is, but with the reserves I at least got some bids from folks that maybe I could deal with off eBay.
  11. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201337763431?afsrc=1&rmvSB=true I guess this answer my question
  12. Not surprising. Auctions with Reserves seldom do well. No reflection at all on BB28. I had a reserve auction book sell on eBay double the last sale on GPA The others didn't do as well, but most reached reserve and sold. I wonder when a great book like this goes unsold if maybe the reserve was just too high?
  13. You'd think with those super-fast metabolisms they wouldn't look like the before picture in a Jenny Craig commercial.
  14. "Other company's" labeling system. Leave a lot to be desired. -J. Not sure if facepalm to my post or to the blue label. I mean it is blue right? I aint THAT drunk. yes but they use blue for restored and unrestored I'm not sure that was such a great idea
  15. FF does have some gems too. I didn't include the pre-code Marvels either which I think rival the DC science-fiction titles. But yeah, Showcase #34's cover is awesome, as is #35 & 36's.
  16. Atom covers are Incredible, right up there with Hawkman. I've seen original cover art for these titles selling for 5 digits after the dollar-sign. Only Spider-Man and maybe Thor covers can compare, IMHO. Most SA Marvel covers are very busy, whereas DC's have good composition, again, in my opinion.
  17. I think at least 5k but could go way higher. Not a lot of data to go on. That being said the owner picked a pretty good time to sell the book I think. Looks 9.0ish to me. Maybe, but not everyone bidding on it will be looking at the book. I'm happy with my 7.5, bought with hard work and bottle returns.
  18. Sweet kimik! I love copies in this grade, especially when they look that good. None on GPA, but look at those 9.4's, wow! Definitely a good bet it ends somewhere between $4 - 6k, but who knows with the new TV show that was announced.
  19. I think a lot of folks enjoy the show because they don't set the expectations too high and recognize it's about comic book characters where unrealistic stuff happening is commonplace.
  20. Keeping an identity a secret doesn't seem to hold the same importance it once had.
  21. I recently bought a great silver age DC key off Roger, and it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. The level of personal service, his expertise of the market - and sheer enthusiasm for the hobby are infectious. I rate this seller AAA+ Bob
  22. A seller had a bunch of really nice looking WW's that closed for some decent prices last night. Here's one of them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281674761888?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  23. And now for something completely different . . . enter the ugly stepbrother . . . sorry, but it is Not the best composition in a work of cover art.
  24. Here's a 5.0 coming to auction at Comiclink: http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?id=1060351
