  1. Not at all, post away, I'm not saying you shouldn't. Besides the B&B 28 club thread was lost anyway. I had to search using Google to find it, not even the search here seemed to know where it was. Great Book there (thumbs u I sold (my soul) a year or two back, and all I think about is getting another.
  2. Wow, this one was lost in the sauce for a while
  3. Your papers do seem to be in order. However, this is not the B&B 28 club thread You weren't by any chance driving behind that armored truck that $170k fell out of the other day! You came into some amazing books there!
  4. I wonder if this made it onto the broadcast of Pawn Stars? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wonder-Woman-7-1943-For-President-Winter-Issue-DC-Comics-CGC-Graded-/221663836606?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item339c31b9be Dropped a thrill-bid, and they cancelled it and sold it to someone I imagine.
  5. That's great! As soon as I find a book I've desperately looked for, they come out of the woodwork But the fun of collecting this title is the challenge of hunting down the tough books. It's not like Spider-Man where you can easily find every issue in every shade of grade.
  6. It's all_things_comics. Stay far away. (thumbs u
  7. Probably one of those books that were dicked around with in the mid-seventies or eighties when restoration became all the rage and everyone was trying to improve these books - I bet many Superman #1's met the same fate during this time.
  8. I don't know what to think about this book: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281559215597?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT On one hand, it looked nice and sharp, but then the seller discloses color-touch as an answer to a question, not disclosed in the listing (that I could find anyway). Thoughts?
  9. Thanks Sammy! I sure wish they'd have given it a 5.0. It's my only 4.5 in the set. But I'm not buying any more Showcase 16's to try get a better one anytime soon. Tough book!
  10. Clean = Green Yeah, I forgot, was thinking some cleaning was allowed - but checked it was conserved tier. "Some cover or interior cleaning (water or solvent)". So I guess not blue
  11. Since we've had a few 2's shown, here's a restored one for sale by Cloud9 comics that could probably be removed for a blue label. I just don't know what the grade would be afterward. http://www.cloudninecomics.com/w477.html
  12. I had that catalog when it came out, I bought Conan the horseman and the 4 ages. I still have my 4 ages, the horseman unfortunately I do not. I remember when Conan was all the rage. I think it had a hand in reviving the genre yet again, back in '73. I recall Barry hand-colored a few of these, the Bran Mac Morn and the 4 ages. They were absolutely gorgeous, but they were more than my budgets would allow at the time. I can't say I've ever seen one of the hand-colored plates up for sale.
  13. Just got this upgrade back from CGC - bought it raw here on the boards as a 5.0, but they thought otherwise. Interesting how this copy (selling on eBay) of the same book same grade from the competition grading company looks compared to my copy graded by CGC. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd38/ollerom_photos/Funstuff/ScreenShot2015-01-13at14059PM_zps7a3ed87b.png http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd38/ollerom_photos/Funstuff/ScreenShot2015-01-13at14105PM_zpsaa50033f.png That's a gift-grade if ever I saw one Heck, even my under copy CGC graded 1.8 looks better than that one http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd38/ollerom_photos/SC16c_zpsb5a6896d.jpg http://s226.photobucket.com/user/ollerom_photos/media/SC16b_zpse9607500.jpg.html?sort=3&o=9
  14. That's why the documentary on the Wonder Woman DVD was so spectacular. I never knew, that after the war, women were just basically told go back home and clean and make babies after all their hard work while their husbands were overseas. Different times, different thinking. It is amazing after all those contributions to just be kicked back to the house for reproduction and cooking. I was also thinking, Marvel stole DC's thunder a little if they intended to carry through with a 1940's setting for the Wonder Woman feature film, as well as having a strong woman in the leading role.
  15. Yep. Uhmm. Yep. Those took me by surprise. Move over Jessica Rabbit
  16. I snagged a Wonder Woman #6 at 2007 SDCC for a song. That's never going to happen again. A WW #7 2.0 closed at $2300+ on eBay last night
  17. . . . or as in my case, (returns haven't) gone out yet
