  1. He wouldn't be the one who saves Ollie, and mate battles Ra's?
  2. Holy cow, for a .5 copy! That's what I paid for a raw 3.5 copy a few years back.
  3. -J. Close, but no cigar $2601.00
  4. It's not to sell and looks every bit an 8.0. If I was going to flip it I would have pressed it to get the higher grade. I wanted to save the money and time, so I can live with the lower grade.
  5. If no one bids over $25 in 6 hours remaining on the 4.5 SC #4 I win guess-the-closing-price contest Fat chance that will happen
  6. Lot's of folks warned that the DC keys were undervalued. Now it's coming true.
  7. Ditto. But I will say the man is a genius as far as how he's evolved the medium further than anyone has in the last decade, with the possible exception of Cameron.
  8. I didn't say I didn't like them, just too many and too drawn out. The scenes that bothered me are the ones that seemed a bit silly - like when they were running between the legs of the stampeding bronto's - it just didn't seem realistic, and again when the tyrannosauruses were doing a trapeze act. There's a lot of great material in the film, it just needs some of the brush cleared so we can see it. Jackson is a great moviemaker, he just doesn't know the meaning of concise. I mean The Hobbit in 3 films
  9. I'm going to go out on a limb and say $2300. For the very reason you stated. -J. It's a nice .5 that's for darned sure. The chunk out of the back cover seems to be the worst of it, otherwise with just a completely split spine wouldn't it'd be like a 1.8 - 2.0?
  10. The man got carried away. A good editor could make that into a great movie by losing about an hour and a few dozen dinosaurs. Specifically the stampede and trapeze scenes. It's too bad no one's ever attempted to salvage it.
  11. Been watching it, no idea really. There isn't even a .5 on GPA. But I'll guess $2000
  12. That cover is so fine on so many levels
  13. Looks great! This book is on my radar, trying to find a copy and one that I like. Awesome! I just read this, had to know what was on the inside... http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=23721 This'll blow your mind - the book they show is the same book I had restored above I recognized the big "C" on the cover. I got it from Flex (Alanna at the time) and quickly decided to have it restored. Maybe Flex uploaded it to this site when he owned it
  14. Finally got a respectable copy. This book had a dent or two that could likely have been pressed out to get a 7.5-8.0 but I figured it's my keeper copy and I don't mind having left the untapped potential.
  15. Yep, it's been a topic of a few discussions within the thread already (thumbs u Nope, pretty sure no one in a comic book forum noticed it. I guess I had a senior moment
  16. Kenny rescued this (with my funding) from a fate of being ruined by scotch tape. He was disappointed that it only got a 5.0 - ONLY! It was a 2.0 restored before. Note the newly created "De-acidified" designation on the label.
  17. Yep, it's been a topic of a few discussions within the thread already (thumbs u
  18. I sure hope that's not the case Here's something that appeared in AdWeek: http://www.adweek.com/news-gallery/television/10-best-new-tv-shows-year-161907 The 10 Best New TV Shows of the Year Unearthing 2014's surprising, satirical and sublimely dark gems By Sam Thielman "The Flash is such a great, no-brainer idea for a TV show, it's a little surprising it took this long for a network to try it out again—it's not actor John Wesley Shipp's fault, after all, that the 1990 CBS series premiered opposite The Simpsons—but much better late than never. Part crime drama, part teen soap, part coming-of-age comedy, The Flash is appropriately enthusiastic about covering all its bases. Not only does the CW series have a breakout star in lead actor Grant Gustin, but the network also smartly paired him up with Jesse L. Martin, who carries most of the series' dramatic weight. And if you're a nerd, you're in heaven: the show boasts straight-faced takes on classic model supervillains (there's seriously a guy named Roy G. Bivolo on this show who goes by Prism, which is a step up from his original nom de crime, Rainbow Raider), teasing allusions to other DC superheroes, and a full-blown crossover with the network's underrated comic book drama, Arrow."
  19. i got these 3 books back from CGC, sporting brand-new Conserved labels. I like the way they look, blue with a purple bar across the top so they are identifiable. I'm pleased with the results!
  20. Just thought I'd share this book, which I've shown before and after restoration, but now in a CGC slab with a neat new "de-acidified" designation on the label.
