  1. just saw that as well, yes .... waiting for images though. Do we think this goes for as much as the Tec27, or maybe a bit more ? Are we looking at a million for the pair ?!!!
  2. really ? I was thinking something insane like pushing 400K, but 500? I wonder if that is possible ........
  3. Nice looking restored. What thinks you ? What could hammer be for this with juice ? Detective Comics #27 (DC, 1939) CGC Apparent FN/VF 7.0 Extensive (A-5) White pages.... Open for bidding around 10/29/2021Auction 7248
  4. this ^^^^^ what a joke this is, not even in the same neighbourhood as cards and comics
  5. good on you - you have to make priorities for what you enjoy in life, it's just too short !! (and p.s., that 50K you banked a few years ago could easily have grown to 75K if invested correctly over that period .....)
  6. I estimate my 5.0 is worth somewhere in the 75K+ range at this point if you extrapolate all sales above and below the grade ........ this is in the area of a 100% increase since your sale (if we all assume your's was a huge outlier sale at the time) , and that's a lot of movement in a few years The book is just insane right now
  7. It's just a free, supply vs demand "business'', this selling of ephemera for profit. Nothing positive or negative about it, it's just how it is.
  8. +1000% ..... I hope maybe he was joking in a strange way (?) ..anyway, I hope he was cause clearly way way up across low/mid grades
  9. rented this VHS thru a local video store back in the early 80's thru a friend's parents' account, bunch of 15 year olds rewinding and playing in slow mo over and over that head-bursting scene a hundred times !! Great memories of a Cronenberg cult classic !!
  10. oh yeah -- that's how the seller gets the big bucks!! It's when the REAL bidding starts .........
  11. Same for me as well, but I didn't discover the downtown stores until the late seventies ...... Dragon Lady, Silver Rail, Queen's Comics in the east I remember buying an ASM #7 as a 13 year old for $20-ish at Dragon Lady at the Queen St. West location, around 1980ish......... just loved staring at the awesome, but out-of-reach, books hanging on the walls !
