  1. I have several Mcfarlane SS books, and some have full "Todd McFarlane" and some have "T. McFarlane", and this one you have posted looks real to me, but it is clearly a more "rushed" sig. (like at a show, as you point out) then the current events that CGC or others hold where he gets paid a s**t load of $$ and he takes a bit more time to make his sig is just a bit neater..... [although still pisses me off when he doesn't sign his full name with "Todd")
  2. Was just listening to some great interviews on YouTube with Bill Bruford, and although he respects the fact that there is good pop music that has caught on with the masses over the last 50-60 years, it is clear that The Beatles et al. , musically, is really the very simplest arrangements of music available. For real music, Mr. Bruford keeps going back to Jazz and such as the "musician's music"..... if one is concerned with pushing the boundaries of what music is and can be. Some good pop music pushed things a bit, such as his bands Yes, King Crimson and others like old Genesis, Gong, etc. etc. etc., but even he admits they were still on the "primitive side" ...... like the Beatles is kindergarten, King Crimson is grade 4, but great jazz is like high school .....
  3. I have 5 Ron Frenz pieces now , thru Catskill (Scott), and they are all INCREDIBLE !!
  4. you're buying to get the best possible return on investment or you're buying to own what you love. ....and there's the rub right there . Also remember, what some love most IS actually money (and can't blame them either).
  5. auction it on a no buyer-fee site like CL, and take the credit on your profile and buy your AF15 with said proceeds at the same auction or next one (with no buyer's fee) ...... yes, there is the 10% hit up front, but ..... no way you'll find someone to do this as a straight trade IMO
  6. I started with a goal of 1-50, then it kept expanding ..... I am STILL collecting the current ASM books, so now I have #1- like 875 now (or whatever the number is at --- my LCS just keeps collecting them for me and I just keep paying ) .... but then that wasn;t enough, so I figured I need all the Annuals, which I am also right up-to-date with ..... and if that is not enough to get me committed to the comic-book psychiatric ward, I have a very extensive collection of 1963-1975 Spider-man cross-overs and "others" (Giant-sized, Team-ups, etc) .......... so I guess my answer is yes, yes, yes to your question
  7. People got money bro, you'd be surprised ......... ...or at the very least, can trade up ( auction off) with the value in books they've held onto
  8. officially a 6-figure book now in the Great White North !

  11. Everyone think the Action #1 restored/brittle for $300,000 is as expected - I thought it might go higher......., maybe brittleness held it back a bit ?
